The investigation leads Inspector Persis Wadia of the Bombay Police to the old colonial capital of Calcutta, where, with the help of Scotland Yard criminalist Archie Blackfinch, she uncovers a possible link to a second case, the brutal murder of an African-American G.I. during the Calcutta Killings of 1946.

Good, yet not equal to the previous in series
Narration and plot are as excellent as previous novels. The only impediment is more than few forced metaphors.

Well done
Vaseem Khan is a top notch storyteller, embedded in the fabric of post independence Indian society. Perseus flawed and remarkable.

Outstanding historical mystery
The themes of this book include human dignity, prejudice, courage, fate, and the fine line between right and wrong - what drives so-called ordinary people to act like wild beasts during a moment of passion or anger? Extremely well-researched and beautifully narrated, this new Vaseem Khan was well worth the wait. Enjoyed every minute
