In this excellent series this is the best so far. Beyond an intriguing story there is an unusual depth of feeling and thought. As someone who grew up overseas and took a long time to feel at home in my “own” country I can identify deeply with the white English/Indian “left behind” as it were when the Raj departed. It is both very brave and very perceptive of Khan to portray such an individual with so much understanding and sympathy. The narration was beautiful as well. I can’t wait for the next in the series.

History and Mystery: As good as any classroom.
Again I have been entertained and received an historical education of India at the same time. My gratitude to the author, Mr Kahn, and all who helped with the audio. Thank you Madam Narrator.

Well done
Vaseem Khan is a top notch storyteller, embedded in the fabric of post independence Indian society. Perseus flawed and remarkable.

Outstanding historical mystery
The themes of this book include human dignity, prejudice, courage, fate, and the fine line between right and wrong - what drives so-called ordinary people to act like wild beasts during a moment of passion or anger? Extremely well-researched and beautifully narrated, this new Vaseem Khan was well worth the wait. Enjoyed every minute
