While wildly disappointed by the outcome of the election, Palmieri optimistically argues in the book that the Clinton candidacy and all she experienced on the campaign trail - confusion, admiration, hate, love, acceptance, rejection - can now open the country up to reimagining women in leadership roles. A couch session on a lost election
So, the title leads you to think this will provide some experienced advice for the first female president and, by extension, to female leaders generally. And there are notable points where she does convey this but...
This is really an autopsy on the 2016 US presidential election as seen from a Hillary insider. And it contains an interesting and occasionally infuriating analysis of the campaign from her perspective.
If you’ve had your fill of that election (or Hillary) you might wish to avoid.
If you’ve read Comey’s Higher Loyalty, Hillary’s What Happened and anything about the Trump perspective (from Art of the Deal) onwards, then this is probably surplus to your requirement.
If you haven’t, it’s worth a read and is short enough to be worth your time.
But I wish she’d called it something less misleading. Or made more of the content to justify the title.
