A wonderful start to a series!

This is a perfect start to a series. The characters are super lovable, there’s a twist you don’t see coming, and lots of shenanigans along the way. I will definitely be listening to the rest of the series!

Oh Tristan...

Having read the ebook first, I knew what was going to happen but Joel always makes the story come alive.

Slight spoilers ahead

So poor Tristan is living the life he has, with no real close friends and a dad with dementia. One day after work, Tristan chokes on an ice cube but is sent back. When he wakes up, he has the ability to see dead people. Considering his job is doing autopsies, it's probably not the greatest gift to have been given. One day a body of a drag queen comes in who was murdered and of course her ghost came with it. This kicks off the murder mystery part of the story.

The other mc is Danny. A hunky northern fella who left his home town because no one accepted his being gay. He initially meets Tristan after the ice choking incident and then we find out he is the lead inspector for Dusty's murder.

The third mc is Dusty. She is the one who was murdered. While not a part of the romance, she does become Tristan's best friend.

Not gonna lie, the murder takes up most of the story with the romance happening in between. But the romance is cute enough that I'm ok with it.

The resolution of the murder was rather abrupt, as was the hea.

I've read the next book so I know it continues so that's a good thing.

As always, Joel was awesome. I think I could listen to him read the phone book as long as he over emotes on each name.

worth the read.

I had a hard time getting into it in the first half but really got into it after that. think its just me then the book. it's a really good book & as always love Joel Leslie the narrator.
I think I'm one of those that like a little more romance in it but I can see it's just enough for others that don't want all romance. I would of just preferred little more then there was. but once it got half way when there was more I started liking it more.

my first audiobook

As I love this series so much I sure enjoyed the book! it's even better than I remembered.
I enjoyed the narration even if JL chose a kind of voices I don't really like.

What happens when you are checking out a really hot guy and choke on a piece of ice and are maybe dead for a minute? You see dead people of course. Enter Miz Dusty Le Frey, she’s is/was a drag queen and needs Tristins help to find her killer and it just so happens the hot guy is the detective who’s case it is. Good story, look forward to more of these characters

Great story

Love the characters, can’t wait for more. Smart, intriguing, sweet, and sexy. Must read but audible version is great as well.
