It seems to me like every time I read or listen to a Brenda Novak book I like her better. This book was no exception. I read in some other reviews of this book some negative comments concerning the southern accents the narrator used. I agree that the narrator's southern accents are a bit hooky and even though I live in Idaho my wife is from Georgia so maybe I do have a bit of an idea of what I'm talking about. Still with the story taking place in Mississippi maybe southern accents should be used. I wonder if it has ever occurred to any one that is in a position to hire narrators for books with a southern story line to look for a narrator that actually comes from the south. All in all this is a good book and I'll be getting some more Brenda Novak books to add to my collection.

The ending could have been a lot more suspenseful but it’s still a very good book.

Escalating suspense!

This is the third book in the Dead Trilogy. First there was Dead Silence and then Dead Giveaway and finally, this one, Dead Right. You should really start with the first one and then read second and third. Each book is unique, but it's easier to keep up with the characters if you start at the beginning. If you like a little bit of mystery, a little bit of romance, and a few surprises thrown in, you'll love these books. When I find an author, whose style I like, I'll read every book written by him or her. I was not disappointed with this one. It kept me enthralled until the end. I only wish there was more.

What a great series!!!

Although you could read them along, I am glad I read them in order. Great, suspenseful series. Only thing that would have mad it better would have been in Christian Rummel had read all three. Karen Stein did a good job. I would suggest if you can't do the southern (or any other) accents well, don't attempt to--just read the book. I cleaned all day and finished the book. Will listen again and also will find other Brenda Novak books to listen to. I love romantic suspense books with bite to them. This whole series did the job.

Read all 3 books of this series

Loved listening to the Narrator of first two in this series, had trouble listening to the Narrator of this one. The story keeps your mind Wondering so I had to listen!

the lead character was so stupid i wanted her to not have a happy ending. the accents were a bit overdone

A good listen

Brenda Novak does not disappoint with this third book in the series. It has enough of the previous character appeal and enough freshness to hold my attention.

Great Read

Dead Right (Stillwater #3) was another great read by Brenda Novak. Although Madeline’s father disappeared twenty years ago, she is still looking for what happened to him. Although everyone thinks that her step family was involved, she doesn’t believe that. His car was recently discovered and now there’s more questions than ever. Madeline decides to hire Hunter, a private investigator, to look into everything. I really enjoyed this conclusion to the Stillwater trilogy. I can’t wait to read more by Brenda Novak.

bad southern accents

I have enjoyed this series of books. It's set in northeast Mississippi near where my daughter lives. I grew up in Mississippi and now live in Alabama. This had some of the worst Southern accents I've heard on audio. There are also many mispronunciations of geographic names. Of course, if you are unfamiliar with the area, this won't bother you. The story was good, but listening to it was not a pleasure. This is not the same narrator used in the first two books of this series.
