Emotional Story - Second Chance

I read this book a bit ago and liked it. It was an emotional read and I felt the struggle and heartbreak from Teri and the frustration from Cobra.

The audio brought this to another level. I liked the story even more in audio. The narrators were fantastic and I really felt more empathy for Teri and more frustration toward Cobra, cause that guy, lol smh. Clueless sometimes.

Teri and Cobra have a very unconventional road to their HEA and though they find happiness the years of trauma Teri endured will always be a shadow Cobra holds at bay. I loved his devotion to Teri from the moment of their reconnection, and Teri’s journey to trust and believe in her own happiness is something I rooted for at the get go.

I loved the cast of characters, the military family, the blood family and how they tied into the plot and helped Teri and Cobra. The story sucks you in as you just have to know what is going on with Teri, especially seeing how she acts in Fire for Effect toward her daughter (Book 1).

The emotion, suspense and action in the book is all well balanced. Can’t wait for the next in the series!

Teri and Cobra

This book as packed full of action, danger, heartbreak, and healing. Molly always does such a great job luring you in and keeping you captivated every time.

After 30 years apart, Teri and Cobra are reunited at the daughter’s wedding, but of course it quickly turns dangerous. There are so many secrets that will soon be uncovered. Teri has dealt with a lot and she never told Cobra. There were several points where I’d get frustrated that she just wouldn’t open up and tell him things. Cobra is very possessive and obsessive and he does not give up. He will protect those he loves.

You can feel the emotions of the characters in this book. A love that has lasted over 30 years is raw and deep, you can’t help but root for them.

PG Hammond and Molly Briar did such a beautiful job bringing these characters to life. Once I started, I was not able to stop, I was invested and needed to know. They gave them a voice that was relatable and easy to follow along even though it’s fast paced.

More exciting Briarverse romance

I adore this story. Cobra and Teri are complex and complicated characters. Their second chance at happiness is set against the backdrop of their daughters wedding and a whole lot of excitement and intrigue. The third book in the Mourningkill series continues the tradition of mixing romance and bad ass covert ops.

Molly and PG Hammock embody Teri and Cobra perfectly. Molly nails Teri's subtle accent. It gives extra dimension to the character without being distracting. PG definitely has the perfect voice for Cobra. The Duet style adds something extra to the audio experience and these two nail the pacing, keeping you interested and engaged in all the action.

You just can’t go wrong reading one of Molly Briar books. She has a way of getting you wrapped up into the characters life drama and you’re invested to find out what will happen next.

Even though these story’s are standalone you are encourage to read the previous book because they can set your perspective of the characters.

This will be where I didn’t love Teresa that much in the last book where now I understand how she is in this book. She’ll protect the ones she loves the most even though it will destroy her relationship to her loved ones. Joe as well has his intentions in the right place but has to fix his wrongs as well protect the one he loves. The emotions will have you all over the place. I loved this story. And recommend it to everyone. Molly Briar voice is amazing.

Second chance, my wife

This a romantic suspense, second chance with swoony "my wife" moments. I felt the yearning and love these two had for each other, keeping distance even though they share a daughter.
