Old ways have been broken in the blood and smoke of the Battle of Thornhurst by Allystaire Stillbright and followers of the Goddess. Now the Paladin must recover from his ordeal, carve out a hopeful future for the shattered Baronies, and prepare for the next attack upon the Goddess' new and fragile following.

But the corrupt deity, Braech, the Sea-Dragon, will not easily let go of the power that has long been his. Braech's minions, led by the calculating Archpriest Symod, march on the now-weakened Baronies.

The final battle, a crusade against the Mother and all of her followers, is near, and Allystaire, the Arm of the Mother, is left to rally the survivors - including some of his oldest enemies - to face a foe that will not rest until all the Mother's faithful are broken and each Barony submits to the Sea Dragon once more.

It’s so difficult to find fantasy books like this trilogy, it was amazing!

I would recommend series by Brandon Sanderson, Michael J Sullivan, Melissa McPhall, David Hair (moonrise quartet),
Patrick Rothfkuss, Mitchell Hogan, Will Wright

I’m always looking for good books so please recommend author’s on your reviews as well❗️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I can’t wait for the NEXT trilogy!

The story and performance brought me to tears. Amazing way to end the Paladin Trilogy.

Impossibly Beautiful Ending

The trilogy as a whole was very good. However, I almost quit the series after the first book. Book 1 is like the rising action of the whole trilogy and book 2 and 3 are the climax.

Good trilogy

At times throughout the trilogy, I found some discrepancies between the characters choices and decisions. Meaning one character would argue against killing another, then in the next chapter chide the main character for letting that same person live.
All in all though, great trilogy! Fantastic even! Didn’t let woke politics get involved and go down the checklist. Every character felt natural to the story. I highly recommend this trilogy!

Great Story!

the book is good, better than alot of what's out there. but I felt like the end was cheap and rushed. and too much left hanging.

not a bad trilogy.

This series of 3 stories is spiritually and excitingly beautiful. this last one has a fitting and dramatic end that has me thinking for many days. I love this story.

A fitting end

This is an excellent book that me with tears in my eyes at the end. Must have must read the entire series!

EXCELLENT

These books were a pleasant discovery. With no obvious Joyce for my next audible book, I chose this one because Michael Kramer was the narrator. I was quickly observed by the characters. I can only say that I am sad it is over, and there doesn’t appear to be any way for the author to write another series with the characters. The trilogy stands on its own, and I am sure I will revisit it again!!

A great story with a bittersweet ending

A paladin that mostly makes decisions based on what is most practical, with lip-service to what is "right," is a very strange paladin.
Kill someone in anger? Sure.
Bury someone's father before they can mourn, because mourning would be a distraction? Why not?
Insist on always being right, even in the face of those your goddess chose to advise you? Of course!
Clench your firsts with barely repressed rage any time someone disagrees with you? Who wouldn't?

It's a good story, but rather than getting the feeling that these are "flaws" in his character, it feels like these characteristics are celebrated. I kept waiting for him to realize these things weren't necessarily good, but when confronted with them, he'd just say "I can't change who I am," even if "who I am" is a rude, angry, disagreeable, pompous, controlling beast (that loves the people).

The pompous, overbearing paladin
