Great Book for Beginning Gardeners!

Dorian Whitecastle's audiobook, "Container and Raised Bed Gardening" is perfect for first-time gardener like me. I've always wanted to garden but had a mental barrier that it was too hard or that I had a black thumb (based on the previous plants that have died under my care). All my concerns were put at ease by the end of the first chapter. The quote by Claude Monet, soothing voice of the narrator (Pearlie Jewel), and the beautiful pictures completely changed the way I viewed gardening. Dorian reminded me that gardening is an art, a science, a way of life, and a beautiful journey. I don't have to worry about memorizing everything in the book, following everything rigidly right off the bat, nor do I have to start with an elaborate garden that I always thought I needed for it to be considered a "garden." Instead, I can start with little successes, one plant at a time, and discover how to garden at my level and with my current lifestyle. I love all of the details that were included in this book (and will be referring back to it often)! I especially enjoyed the in-depth section about soil composition and how I could easily test and adjust the soil quality all by myself. I feel really excited to get started on my gardening journey!
