what I like most about this book is that it described me to a tee! after understanding that the author knows what he's talking about I was able to listen more attentively for any ways that I can not be in panic all day. and what he did is give practical advice on how to not let anxiety and panic rule your life. this advice is very doable and I look forward to implementing them in my daily routine so I can get out of the thumb of panic and anxiety. excellent read and great book!!

I’ve tried medication and, while they certainly help take the edge off, they just aren’t enough for me to fully control my mental health issues. Cognitive behavioral therapy, though, deals with the root of the problem, the emotions and associations themselves and the experiences/memories which have created those emotions and associations. Even better for me is that a lot of the therapy, such as identifying the memories behind the associations, is stuff that I do anyway; this book just gives a structured approach which will help me use this self-analysis to improve my condition.

I was very impressed not only with the author's knowledge and accuracy regarding CBT, but also with his in depth analysis and step by step coping strategies. This audiobook is focused on a more positive approach, which I can definitely appreciate. Topics also include how to cope in a meaningful way in regards to anxiety and depression, as well.
