Resumen del Editor

1/12/2020 - this is the revised edition

For Howie, the lonely barista, he longed for the dream life. Husband, house with a white picket fence, 2.5 kids, and a dog. Sadly, all he could get were meaningless one-night stands leaving him feeling…empty.

Jackson Milsap, the introverted writer, quietly pined for Howie from the corner of the café. Stepping outside of his comfort zone and asking him out on a date sent his social anxiety into overdrive. That was until the day he came to Howie’s rescue, forever changing both their lives.

This story was part of the Between the Covers limited edition anthology.

Short and Sweet

Coffee, Tea or Me? Was a sweet and entertaining romance between two characters who each come with their own set of hang ups. I thought they were both very likeable, and was happy to see them get their HEA.
I was a little disappointed in the narrator, and it bothered me to hear him mispronounce a few words. Overall though, this was an enjoyable listen.

Sweet Sip of Romance That Needed More Frothing

This audio book was a sweet and very quick listen that left me wanting more - more coffee, more time, and more of this couple to fully tell their love story.

Insecure barista Howie and shy writer Jackson are adorable together and make a super sweet couple, and I would've eaten up a deeper dive into their romance, backstories, and simply more pages to build up their feelings, relationship, and HEA payoff. I thought Howie's insecurities in particular, stemming from a string of one-and-done hook-ups, deserved more attention. All told, this felt like a cute, abbreviated version of what could've been a well-rounded hurt/comfort love story.

This was my first time hearing narrator Charles Armstrong, and I enjoyed his performance. He's got a voice that makes for easy listening, and he gave the MCs enough personality to keep me entertained. I received a free review copy of this audio book and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Story okay but a bit disturbing

The story was good but I think there should be a warning about the graphic sexual scenes

crush to lover

Howie had such low self esteem it hurt my soul.
Jackson was just what he needed. Jackson wss shy, sweet, and protective and finally went after his hearts' desire. Sweet story. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job.

Deliciously cute short story!

Howie the rambly barista and Jackson the socially awkward writer. They’ve been pining after each other from afar for months, but when a rude customer makes nasty comments to Howie, Jackson stands up for him and gathers the courage to ask him out.
The short story is super sweet and quite adorable, low in angst and the perfect bite size for an enjoyable hour-long escape.

Cute and Sweet

This book is short and sweet. The narration is well done and the two main characters are great. Both of the main characters are pretty insecure but they work well together. The book is wonderful as is but personally I would love if it had been a little more flushed out as I love longer books that I can really sink in to. But, as I said it is a great short listen.

Howie + Jackson are so sweet!

Coffee, tea, or me, please? Poor Howie is so shy and secretly crushing on Jackson who comes into his coffeeshop every day to work on his project. After an unpleasant encounter with a disgruntled and horrid customer, Jackson saves the day and finds Howie bawling his eyes out in the back room. It's a sweet, quick listen from secret crush to boyfriends. Howie and Jackson are so sweet and cute together especially after Howie has a melt-down (again) but they work through it. I loved the story the first time I read it and I love the audio version even more.

overall story was pretty good but

moves pretty fast but it was a short story I feel like maybe it was a little bit longer it could have been a little better.

Overall its well written as far as writing style. I did not mind Jackson but Howie was kind of annoying. This character did not love themselves at all. So insecure that it's hard to see why Jackson could even be into someone that insecure.

I wasn't even dating him and I felt like being with him is walking on eggshells. Any little thing every little thing makes him cry or assume nobody wants him. So emotional that it feels very unhealthy and I wasn't rooting for their love I was rooting for him to see a therapist. I mean I guess the author was trying to go for dramatics but it was so melodramatic that it was overdone and it made me not care for this character and kind of question what anybody was seeing in this character..

Again definitely wasn't horrible. the pacing moved a little too fast and being a tiny bit too short made me deduct a star. So that take the five star down to the four star.

And then because how he was so melodramatic that he came off as extremely insecure to the point of needing a therapist, not a boyfriend. And the relationship is not kind of unhealthy to me is why it went from a four star to three star.

Because if it's a romance I should be rooting for their love. I should be rooting for the relationship and it was the opposite of rooting for it. Not that I didn't want them to be together... I just feel like Howie needed to learn to love himself and work on himself before he could give anything meaningful to Jackson. Instead all I saw was an emotionally draining toxic relationship. and I dont like that Jackson has to always reassure Howie when that's Howie's job. That's why it's called self-esteem because it's something that only you can give yourself but in this case he needs therapy to help him love himself.
