Mia Hayes has peaceful plans for the summer. Those plans are shattered when government agents arrive at her home seeking something they believe her father has taken. When the dust settles, her mother is dead and her father is gone, a fugitive on the run.
Three weeks later, and still reeling from her father's betrayal, Mia spends her seventeenth birthday at a protest in the heart of D.C., where she meets Logan, a rebellious and charming hacker. Just as she's enjoying her first happy moment since the night her world exploded, a voicemail from her father arrives to upend everything she believed about her family, her past, and what really happened that night three weeks ago. Even more, the voicemail hides another encoded message inside which, once Mia solves it, sets her and Logan off on a mission straight into the heart of the federal government.
With the same agents on their trail, Mia and Logan must navigate their way through American history's most iconic sites and uncover its most well-hidden secrets to reveal the truth about her family and stop a deadly attack. In this non-stop thrill ride, the listener has the chance to test their own codebreaking skills alongside Mia, lending an exciting interactive element to this must-listen thriller packed with action, romance, and life-changing revelations.

This book was like a YA version of National Treasure and I ATE IT UP. I adored the twists, every single one was unique and made total sense. It all came together in this big lovely ending that just worked so well for our story. I really enjoyed the ride.
Our characters were so delightful. Mia was resourceful and personable. Logan was such a smarty pants but so endearing. I absolutely loved their banter. It was the absolute best thing about this book. This is the kind of bantering and relationship-building I want in my YA. It was NOT lusty at all. They grew to know one another and determined from that growth that they enjoyed each other's company and when the pivotal moment happens... it just feels so well-earned!
The audiobook is absolutely fantastic. I really enjoyed the narrator's way of differentiating between the characters. And the few chapters from alternate povs were unique in that I could TELL that they were told from a different perspective. Even without any dual-narration, we got a very solid listening experience!
I'd recommend this to any fans of media like National Treasure and anyone who enjoys top tier banter in a no-spice YA. I am SO excited to read more from this author duo!
