#26 Ugly

Hooking up with a cop was supposed to be fun.

How joking with Detective Lennox Maison about her handcuffs transformed into her actually arresting me was something I could’ve never predicted. I thought it was a joke at first, but what kind of person would joke about the murder of a local woman?

Lennox claimed I was the last one to see her alive. I should have an alibi. I should be able to tell them exactly what I was doing that night. The truth is, I can’t remember, and that argument never holds up in court. I manage to convince her that I’m innocent, only for it to happen again. I not only have to worry about being falsely accused of murder, but now I have to worry if I’ve put Lennox in the crosshairs of a serial killer.

#27 Bishop

In the grand scheme of things five years isn’t a very long time.

It goes by in a blink, literally. Waking up with no recollection of the last five years is devastating. The woman I remember loving is with someone else.

The only family I had is gone, and I’m forced to relive those losses all over again. I’m now a member of Cerberus, and I can’t even recall if I signed on to get Rivet back or if I got over her before joining. I have no other choice but to cling to the woman hired to help me recover because she’s the only one that knows less about me than I do. I was afraid of never getting my memory back, but the closer I get to her makes me terrified of what will happen if I do.

#28 Legacy

I never expected to see her again. The connection we shared through her brother was severed when he died in combat. Their parents were adamant that I never reach out to them again. I forgot about the pact I made, my promise to make her mine if I wasn’t married by thirty. The only answer I had for her when she showed up with that handwritten note was no. Only Devyn Malloy isn’t the type to take no for an answer. Cerberus welcomed her with open arms, but as that became enough for her, I realized it might not be enough for me.

uuuggghhhhhh

I love love love this series, however the female narrator was HORRIBLE. She was so stilted that it was like she was reading a list of words instead of an amazing story. I am in the same business as the female character, so it was close to my heart. If she was the narrator on the first book I would've given up and never finished. It was painful to listen to her chapters. Unfortunately, she is the narrator on the next book also...

Enjoyable series

This book fits in with the overall story arc of the series. The "spicy " scenes don't seem as intense or as often as those in earliest books, but that fits with the evolution of the MC to a more family friendly organization.
My biggest problem in this book is that narrator that voices Devynand the editor need to do some study on the correct pronunciation of one of the places in the story. Devyn and Legacy are from Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Bow is pronounced /bou/, as in 'bow and arrow', not /bau/ as in 'to bend' or 'take a bow'. The narrator that voices Legacy says it correctly.
Broken Bow is a town in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, after all.

Great series

This series just keeps getting better. This is box set includes books 26, 27 and 28. Each story for equally intense, emotional and highly entertaining. I enjoyed going along this ride with Ugly, Bishop, Legacy and their significant others. Great series!

Good Storyline... But

Though I throughly enjoyed the storyline I had a lot of difficulty listening to the main female character. The narration was fine, it was just the age of the character that was the hard part. She is very young and quite often she would say or do something that made me want to tell her to just stop but then I'd remind myself she's only 18 yrs old. There's a reason I don't read or listen to YA books and this reminded me of why.

3rd book, female narrator

Good books but the 3rd was tough to get through with the female narrator. Wasn’t unbearable, just tough. The pauses after 2 words was so exaggerated.

bad reading

Samantha Summers is terrible at reading the books her stilted tempo of reading is irritating and takes away from enjoying the story. I will have to buy the kindle books to read despite waating money on these.

stories are always great! The new narrator for Legacy is horrible. took twice as long to listen to since it was s irritating.

Bishop and Sunshine

Loved loved loved this book. Bishop and Sunshine ❤️ that was a great story, tons of attraction and trust between the 2 characters. The performance was outstanding. I can’t wait for book 9 to come out I’m very excited. Starts off with stormy and his god children.

The narrator though!

The female narrator on Legacy was PAINFUL to listen to. Enjoyed ALL other 28 novels except for Legacy. Unfortunately the same female narrator is in the next set. Probably will not listen to those.

Super Fan

I’ve loved this series from the beginning. Everything about it except the cadence of the female narrator in the last book. I hoped I’d get used to it but it bugged me until the very end. Stick with the original female or have the new one coached. Nobody pauses that often while speaking. It’s… super… annoying. Everything else is perfect!
