Strange Times and Beef Jerky in Texas

When a woman is transferred to a small Texas town by the military, she and her husband discover a series of strange disappearances which have been going on for years in this mystifying and often creepy thriller. Gwynn expertly captures the strange blend of warmth and reticence that marks small town folk faced with the arrival of outsiders and gives it a sinister twist that will raise the hair on the back of your neck at the same time that it keeps you coming back to find out how it all ends and what's happening to the residents of Marion Texas whose Census population numbers have remained unchanged for decades.
This story is the third in a series but it is a stand-alone story that I thoroughly enjoyed without having read the earlier volumes.
Great reading, though maybe not when you're home alone or heading off to bed.

I loved this!A couple move to a town where people going missing is a normal happening. Lawrence D. Yaklin was a fine narrator.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.

Suspense filled!

I loved what she did with the final part of the trilogy. It was pure genius. I felt like I was listening to an episode of Criminal Minds does Sci fi! The narrator did a great job. I do wish he'd done a little bit more on the characters voices though! I fully recommend!
