Acerca de esta escucha
Dangerous and disregarding people don't simply drop out of the sky. Nor are they born bloodthirsty and cruel. When looking at the developmental years of adult criminals and juvenile delinquents or the selfish patterns of anyone that we must rub shoulders with, the question is asked "How does one get this way?" Typically we can see the answers within their genetic mental health history which may hint of possible concern and their first 5 years after birth which is their most impressionable social training ground.
This volume reveals what the source and beginnings of aberrant behavior looks like, and what the adults they become act like. It also gives us perspective as to how to recognize and at least avoid predators in regular person clothing.
Is there a cure for or pill for predatory behavior?
Is there hope for your relative or coworker from Hell?
Where they come from, what they look like and how we can prevent or dodge them is the purpose of this book.
When it comes to the above questions Theodore Robert Bundy's life gives us all the information we need.

Historia
Due to Sullivan’s extensive writing about Ted Bundy, he’s become a sort of magnet over the years, drawing out many people who were part of the Bundy story but have otherwise kept a low profile over the decades. These first-person contacts continue to this day. As such, this is the first book in a new series of books whose aim is to bring new revelations to the public about Bundy, the victims, the murders, and the almost murders that failed Bundy for one reason or another.

Fellow Houston, Texas, teenager David Brooks had already been ensnared by the charming older man, bribed with cash to help lure boys to Corll's home. Corll baited Henley with the same deal he'd given Brooks: $200 for each boy they could bring him.

Historia
On a cold January morning, the killer executed Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse in broad daylight. Eight shots fired a block from the Kaufman County Courthouse. Two months later, a massacre. The day before Easter, the couple slept. Bunnies, eggs, a flower centerpiece gracing the table. Death rang their doorbell and filled the air with the rat-a-tat-tat of an assault weapon discharging round after round into their bodies. Eric Williams and his wife, Kim, celebrated the murders with grilled steaks. Williams planned to exact revenge on all those who had wronged him.

A good Bundy Read.
This book offers a detailed and gripping exploration of Ted Bundy, one of America's most infamous serial killers. This book does an excellent job of weaving together Bundy's life story with the broader context of the time, providing insights into the factors that may have influenced his horrific actions.
The narrative is well-paced, striking a balance between factual reporting and engaging storytelling. I liked how she made the complex psychological concepts understandable without oversimplifying them. One of the strengths of the book is its deep dive into Bundy's psychology, offering a childhood view that goes beyond the usual portrayal of him as a mere monster.
While the book does talk about the details of Bundy's crimes, it does so in a way that is respectful to the victims and focused on understanding the broader picture. For someone who isn't a true crime fanatic, "Bundy" is a compelling read that sheds light on a dark chapter of history. Overall, it's a well-researched and thoughtfully written novel that true crime enthusiasts and curious readers alike will find hard to put down.

A new take on Ted Bundy.
I’d say I’ve consumed all of Ted Bundy content out there and the author probably has too. Paced very nicely and information transitioning good. Only thing I don’t like is the continued validation of body language analysis. Usually known as pseudoscience. Rest of the book is excellent.

Fills a gap in the story
I enjoyed this book because it offered analysis and interpretation of an oft-neglected aspect of this story. Author has an engaging style.

Some fascinating Bundy and child developmental facts; but too much editorializing
The author does a great job presenting never-before heard details of Bundy’s childhood and how disturbing it actually was. She goes thru his history in childhood more deeply than anyone else has seemed to. She convincingly argues that Bundy had little change to avoid psychopathy based on his early years; and debunks his claims of an idyllic childhood. It also exposes his mother as a dysfunctional individual. However, the author writes everything Bundy ever did—good or bad—off as being a product of his antisocial personality and not any genuine good feelings. She doesn’t think he ever loved his long term girlfriend; which I think is shortsighted and disappointing. She believes all of his thoughtful gestures toward others were done in furtherance of his desire to manipulate, rather than any semblance of genuine civility. It is a one dimensional view of a man who had a horrible evil in him and also a remarkably good side. She effectively strips bundy of his unique profile by coloring all with the same dark brush. She also goes into other killers too often, and has an entire section about women who either were abused by such men or narrowly avoided them. It is disjointed and boring there, as it is where she lectures on how to detect these personality defects in children. I skipped a lot of those chapters. The book strays too much in places; and also makes really non humerus attempts at being cute. I’d recommend it for a Bundy enthusiast, interested in what formed him as a child, but not for anyone wanting a Bundy-focused book.
