Evidence turns up that links Missy's death to embezzlement and another murder—crimes that had falsely implicated Jenna herself less than a year ago. As Gwendolyn continues to beg Jenna to help prove her son’s innocence, Jenna wonders if Blake could truly be innocent. Jenna has to choose whether to risk it all—her reputation, her growing relationship with her boyfriend, and maybe her life—or let a possibly innocent man go to prison.

this is a really good series and I really enjoyed listening to it. it had a good plot and the narrator as usual did a great job.

I Didn't Want It To End

This is one of my favorite series, and this book did not disappoint. Jenna, Keith, Rita, Matt, Tisha - all such relatable personalities with great chemistry. Oh, and I mustn't forget Eddie, Jenna's sweet rescue, and a new character who fits right into the mix.The dialogue is intelligent and often witty. My emotions ran the gamut in this one, including some laugh out loud moments. The plot is well written, and there are enough twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. I did not suspect the culprit unti just before the reveal. Jenna also gets some closure regarding her former legal troubles in Charlotte. There is only one downside and that is I must now wait for the next outing with Jenna and crew. I highly recommend this book.

Unpredictably enjoyable!

This book was an enjoyable listen. I did not want it to end so I listened to the final chapter twice! The narrator was impressive and made each character believable and distinctive. I read the trio of books in succession and throughly enjoyed each. I anxiously anticipate reading more from author, Laura Gail Black!

Just Perfect

This is the third book I’ve read and it has been a complete joy. Characters are interesting. I love Philly and Rita and am looking forward to hearing from them again in the next book. Sadly, I think it is the last book of this series. But that’s probably a good thing as it would become a bit weird for this girl to become involved in yet another murder in this small town. The stories are great and kept me guessing til almost the end. This one I did figure out, but wasn’t completely sure. I am a book lover, so this is set in a perfect place for me. The narrator does a great job on this and is able to distinguish voices for all the characters. I would recommend this to just about anyone for a good read.

Best Story

This was the best book I have listened to all summer! I loved the story!

The relationship has turned strangely neurotic

The supposedly strong woman who has survived so much has suddenly turned into a whiny cry baby and the boyfriend seems to need to play to that. There are far too many scenes where Jenna turns into a sobbing mess. Two might have been OK but I lost count and found it annoying filler. I now question if I want to consider following this series if it continues a weak, wimpy cry baby rather than a strong protagonist interested in what goes on around her.
