Bringing a renewed sense of hope

Suzette‘s courage to keep moving forward is inspiring as I too search for purpose moving through challenges. The powerful authenticity both in the words and the author’s voice reading them made it almost impossible to put down. Each section I listen to brings me a renewed sense of hope to overcome obstacles that arise every day.

I flew through this rich and wise story. It is a beautiful and vulnerable telling of the wild journey to self realization and the discovery life purpose. The weaving of scripture and reflection gives the reader a chance to actively participate and acts as an inspiration and guide as you learn Suzette’s unique story. I don’t want it to end! This is so fresh. You really journey with Suzette. It’s written in such a way that you never quite know where it’s going to go, but it’s right on time. Very relatable. And you transform with her. Her reading is fantastic too. A joy to listen to. Perfect when you’re ready to make a change.

Even better as an audiobook!

Last year, I met the author at a networking event and was so impressed with her communication style and warmth. All of us in attendance received free copies of the paperback book, but I enjoyed it even more as an audiobook!

Suzette’s voice is clear, resonant, and has just a pinch of Southern charm.

One weekend, I needed a bit of inspiration and was gripped by the openness, honesty, and vulnerability from the start. I learned that Suzette and I have a lot in common, and this isn’t a self-help book on the X-number of steps to get you from here to there. Nor is this a spirituality book that tries to convert you to the author’s beliefs. This is Suzette’s story of pain and promise.

Suzette tells us how she moves from lighting to enlightenment.

Reader, if you are thinking about or have recently quit your day job to fulfill your entrepreneurial dreams, you will want to read about Suzette’s journey from career mom to entrepreneur, and all of the turns and twists along the way.

Specific insights:

Part 1 talks about Suzette’s struggles as a working mother and wife with the desire to go out on her own. Note that “Dreaming From Prison” (chapter 4) was particularly eye-opening. “Quit and Stay” (chapter 8) was ahead of its time and speaks to the quiet quitting movement that we see today.

Part 2 is about starting her business, with all of its fits and starts. We learn how she navigates financial struggles, difficulties in her marriage, and helps family and friends devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Part 3 speaks to seeking and receiving help. As wives, mothers, daughters, and colleagues we may be hesitant to ask for and receive help. Suzette’s vulnerability is on full display as she struggles to take a hard look at what holds her back.

Part 4 is the promise. We see the fruit of Suzette’s hard work and the healing process. Through it all, Suzette will never be the same, and neither will we as readers.

Inspiring and Guiding

This book is inspiring and guiding letting people know to be thankful for the life they live; and first and foremost, to be strong in their faith in God. The author reading the book adds so much to the content for one can feel the highs and lows she experienced. I would recommend this book to young adults just starting a career up through those considering changing jobs or retirement; and married couples and partners, and members of the spiritual community. I could not stop listening!

Soulful, Inspiring and Sacrificially Transparent

The earnest and honest view into the author’s spiritual and emotional journey displays faith, courage and a tremendous gift of storytelling. It is both thought and soul provoking, while identifying and connecting with some aspect of each of our journeys. It starts a bit slow but then builds into an engaging spiritual journey that is is hard to put down. A rare display of truth, humility, gratitude, steadfastness and faith all rolled into one!

I liked it, hope you will, too.

I hope you will enjoy this inspirational book as much as I did.
Try releasing your fear and allow your faithfulness to take over. This is an easy read, so get started. I also liked her voice which was very soothing.
