A happy surprise!
Was thrilled to listen to this novella from Ms. Shaw. After the last book of the series I was afraid that it was a goodbye to all of the curious and wonderful characters that I’d finally gotten to know and understand by the third book. Highly recommend that you start with the first of this series—while Bitter Waters is a great stand-alone, some important character elements will be missed without critical backstory provided in the preceding novels. It is perfectly narrated. Highly recommend this series— please check it out!

Engaging story
If you like stories about Vampires, this was thought provoking with good character development.
I liked the way the characters interacted with each other and cared about the vampire child, agreed with others that the story ended abruptly.
Overall for a short story it was very enjoyable.

enjoyable and fun listen BUT
TOO SHORT. The change in narrator was a mistake-it was difficult to follow male characters. Please, please leave out the meaningless F-bombs! Overall, I would recommend purchasing this audible (but read the earlier works first) and I hope for another in the series with more depth (and length) to the writing.
