Riveting series!

Jay Crownover is one of my favorite authors and it's because of her gift in describing the weight of decisions people make and the reasons they make them. In this 2nd installment, we learn about Race Hartman and Bryson Carter's romance. Race is interesting because he's the guy with the golden looks, intelligence and strong survival skills. I mean this guy can get himself out of any precarious situation with his quick wit, ability to reason & develop solutions on the spot, all while taming the flames of the danger around him. Bryson is a responsible big sister who is a college student, and she's actually Dovie's best friend. I liked that Bryson was responsible, stylish and sassy. More than anything, I liked how she was a hard worker, and that she also had a survival instinct that made her pairing with Race so understandable.

What I liked most about this novel was the constant flow of action. I mean the stark contrast between the two ways of living in both The Point and The Hill was so interesting! Crownover almost describes The Point, as a living, mythical creature that is out to destroy the will and life of it's inhabitants, and everyone deals with the challenges of living in "the Point" differently. Race seems to almost want to outsmart and balance the rough energy that is this beast called "The Point." That was a unique trait to possess, and I really liked Race for that, because it made him an optimist, in my view. The love scenes were okay, but nothing too overly tender or heart-warming. Both Race and Bryson did have good chemistry, but overall the focus is on surviving the many hurdles that came their way.

Regarding all of the surrounding characters, I loved getting a bit of some DOVIE/JAX time in! I love Dovie and Jax together and I was happy to see that they were continuing to do well together. However, I was seriously disturbed with the female lead for the 3rd installment. She is a skank and a bitch, mainly because she's responsible for the scar on Dovie's chest since she betrayed her in the previous book. Also, I freaken love Titus, and I hate the idea of him being paired with his brother's ex-lover. UGH!!! Some villains are not meant to be rehabilitated when they've caused so much damage!!!! And, believe me, this next female lead has caused enough pain for Dovie....why is she going to be with Titus, who deserves A LOT better than his brother's sloppy seconds????? UGH, I'm really pissed about that.....

Also, let me say Bryson is described as beautiful and so is the female lead for the next book (can't remember her name off hand), but Dovie is still described as somewhat frumpy. PLEASE CROWNOVER CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE DOVIE A MAKEOVER?????? PLEASE! The girl has been through so much, and she deserves to look just as hot as the other female leads.....just saying....

Narrators: Jameson Adams and Olivia Song did great. Overall, I really enjoyed this audiobook!

Another Great Book from Jay Crownover

This is an erotic, romance, lots of drama and mystery to this one, not everything is what it seems.

Race is the brother to Dovie, who we met in Book 1 of the Welcome to the point. Race is a rich guy living on the wrong side of the tracks, he has no problem violence or taking what is his. It's all business, until Brysen comes into the picture, now it is going to be personal. Race is doing everything to chase her, keep her and her sister safe while trying to catch a killer. But not everything is going as planned and the cost will be Brysen's life or his own.

Brysen grew up in the middle, she looks like she belongs on a runway but her home life is not so picture perfect. Her mother is a drunk and addicted to pills. In the past she caused an accident, taking the lives of a family member and destroying their lives. Her father is willing to pay off everyone to keep them in the good life, but his addiction to gambling will cause them to lose everything. With a stalker out to kill Brysen and she is trying everything to keep her sister safe. Race comes to the rescue, but Brysen is not use to the drama and violence of Race's lifestyle.

Love this book, gotta tell you that it is best you read the one before to get a better idea of each character. I am getting attached to the Point boys and looking forward to more of them.

While I like the story, and the characters, I have to admit the narration bothered the heck out of me. The girls voice was awful, especially when she tried to sound like Race. The guy wasn't too bad but it still took away from the story. I love Jay and her marked series, but the Point series just isn't my favourite. I won't be moving on with the third instalment.

Loved this intense story.

Very exciting and intense. Read Honor which made me want to reread this series. Loving every minute of Jay Crownover's talented writing.

Not one of my Favorites...

Didn't hold my interest like the other books could, being somewhat predictable, plus I couldn't relate to the couples 'love-connection', mainly d/t the Narrators -both Male & Female. Regardless, I'll never regret choosing a Jay Crownover Book
