Funny and emotional..

Back Where you Belong is the first book I have read/listened to by Ms. Starling, but it definitely won’t be the last. I loved the story and the growing up and coming home feel. The narrator, Gary Furlong really brought the characters to life. I love the accent. I look forward to reading/listening to more books by Isobel Starling in the future.

Second chances should be taken when they arise

Short, sweet love story in which a man is stranded in the Scottish Highlands on Christmas Eve. In the middle of nowhere, who comes along and rescues Kier, but his ex-boyfriend Dougie, on his way home for Christmas. Kier has regretted their breakup ever since he caused it 5 years ago. Now he has a chance to make things right. But he finds that Dougie may have someone already.....a fury someone! Dougie lets Kier think his dog is his bf until they reach his house and meets the lovable dog. But is Dougie really unattached and is he willing to forgive Kier for leaving him?

Isobel Starling creates a heartfelt story and characters in a short story with believable characters and situations, and once again, her go to narrator, Gary Furlong does an excellent job narrating the story, the voices and emotions.

Definitely worth a listen, as are all of Starling's books! Pick this up and enjoy the holidays!

A sweet, sexy second chance romance

Kier and Douglas are both still hurting from their last meeting five years before when Kier left Douglas for Australia in search of... he wasn't sure.

Now the two are face to face and it's obvious they still had a connection, a deep connection. How do they start to rebuild that trust again? Puppy play and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Normally, I wish a story to be longer when I'm enjoying it so much, but this one had it all. A second chance meeting, misunderstanding, longing, regaining of trust, love and a happy ending.

Gary Furlong does an amazing job bringing both characters to life. His voice really brought out the longing and intense build-ups the two men had.

Back where he belongs

When Kier left Scotland years ago he not only left his home but his heart behind. He never dreamed that he would see the one and only man he ever loved again. A trip back home to see his family leaves Kier stranded but the fates have decided to give him one more chance and bring the man of his dreams back to him. The only question is will Douglas give him a chance to prove his love or has Kier truly burned all his bridges?

I enjoyed Douglas and Kier’s story. The two men have a strong bond that helps them get past the pain of heartbreak. Things have changed though. Douglas is not the young lad Kier remembers, he has grown into a strong and dominant man. If the two have any chance at a future Kier must give not only his heart but his submission as well. Their story is a sweet romance with lots of hot play and so full of emotions. As the men enjoy their puppy play, they find that true love is something that cannot be ignored and must be nurtured.

Narrator Gary Furlong brings these characters and this world to life nicely. The narrative flows at a good pace and he speaks clearly keeping the listener engaged throughout the book.

Warm holiday story

This was a fun book for me. Even though the premise of being stranded is nothing new and old lovers reuniting isn’t either, I felt this author made it fresh. Maybe it is that she know how to give such life to her characters I can picture this happening. I’m normally not a puppy or animal play reader but I felt the author did so with such good taste I enjoyed it. I think maybe it was because overall the two were comfortable together even after being separated for five years. I think the narrator did a great job and I feel that contributed to me enjoying this story

Super sweet second chance story

Super sweet second chance christmas story with great narration. A bit too short though, there were several things that I would have liked to know more detail about. Such as the fact that we were told Keir were the dominant partner in their earlier relationship, but this time around we see him only i a submissive role to Douglas. A prologue or flashback to what they were like before would have been nice.

Also I would have liked a longer conclusion. The ending felt more like a HFN than a HEA because it came about so abruptly. An epilogue further into the future would have helped me believe in them as a forever couple.

Sweet second chance book with a hint of kink

This was a sweet story about second chance. First I have to say is Gary Furlong was awesome, so sexy with those accents. Keira is back in Scotland to spend the holidays with his family and breaks down on the side of the road. Who happens along, Douglas the only man he ever loved. 5 years ago, they had a Dom/sub ish type relationship with Keir being the Dom. Think puppy play y’all! But a lot happens in those 5 years and it time for to be taken in hand, or by the leash :). I really enjoyed this book but would have liked more on the play side of things.

Novella noel

So yes, this is a short story novella.

Kier is on his way home for the holidays and of course his car breaks down, always the worst time. He is in cold highlands and the sun is setting fast, as well as a snow storm coming in, he has to get to town fast. So he ends up walking and gets picked up from a blast from his past. The story unfolds as old feelings of betrayal and love are tested and seen, as well as some kinks to be expressed. The visuals are good and the tension will have you barking with delight at the end...

This one starts out slooow,a good steady burn, its story and back story and then we get to the meaty bits. Now for a novella back story is important and there is nothing wrong with the story, the narrator however was very monotone while stating the back story, until we get to the full story then he livens up a tiny bit.

Just the absolute best story. Everything I like to listen about and more. Such a great story I will listen again and again. A keeper!!
