How incredibly frustrating! She is so annoying!

WOW...this is really a great story, BUT Blair (the character) is so annoying. She really thinks she does no WRONG! I realize she had it bad... she should really understand it could have been soo much worse. (she was not rapped) Most of the other ladies not so fortunate. Same at the end she pretends she has NO fault! I mean are you flipping kidding me! She is not REALLY held accountable for anything she did especially at the end. I really made a fool of myself screaming at my speakers over this issue. For someone that is so strong she sure does behave like a child. I did not expect that for her character. Unfortunately, that really took away from what this story could have been. Also why dual narration? I was really looking forward to having male and female voices throughout, not just the epilogue for him. how disappointed 😞

Excellent,if you Really Really Really like DARK Romance Anita Gray delivers. Take a chance spend the credit you won’t be disappointed! Narrators sealed the deal!

I really appreciated this Dark Romance! It took me on a journey for three days(read the whole series with bonus scenes). As an American I had to update my London "lingo" examples are "trainers" "joggers" etc but I caught on! As noted above THIS BOOK IS DETAILED! At times at a snails pace, or it repeats as how the main Character got to be in the situation over and over. that being said, I LOVED THIS SERIES OF BOOKS AND AWAIT MORE! The main female character was complex, had depth to her altho at times I did get frustrated at her depth of naiveté to the lengths she doesn't understand/explains her wrongs to the point that you wanna scream! That's where I had to put myself in her shoes to better understand this character! Grab this book, enjoy the emotional Rollercoaster ride with an open mind and I guarentee you it'll take you away! Can't wait fir Blair 3 tho! Anita , hurry I'm so desperate for the next installment!

IT'S DARK.. & OVERFLOWING WITH SUSPENSE & FEELS

Wow.. this is a very dark and twisted journey, a rollercoaster ride that picks up speed and intensity then plunges headlong into heartache and, as much as you want to look away, you simply can’t because it’s THAT good. So, all you can do is hold your breath, anxiously bite your nails as your blood pressure rises and rises.. and you pray to all that is holy that this chilling/thrilling ride will eventually lead to a HEA ending.. but arrrrgh, instead it’s a cliffhanger.

This is an epically written twisted romance between two very damaged killers, it’s a compelling suspenseful story that will end in a turbulent sea of betrayal, broken promises, bloodshed and battered hearts. It’s not for the squeamish, the sensitive souls or the easily offended.. no, it’s for those of us who want a thrill ride, who want to be shocked and submerged in a dark story of kidnapping, bloody torture, rape, brutal punishments and sadistic men who all want to control and use the emotionally void, cold and detached Blair. She has been ‘programmed’ from 8 yrs old and now she quietly, efficiently and subserviently executes her master’s every command. It could be hacking, protecting her master at any costs, brutally killing for him, mindlessly following his sadistic orders, take his punishments and accept them as fair and to leave mayhem and murder in her wake because nothing affects her.. until Charlie. He will become her selfless saviour, her passionate protector, her loving friend, her devoted lover, her salvation.. and her downfall. Charlie is a virgin and her master intends to keep her that way.

It’s an action-packed drama-heavy scary ride into darkness, it’s a slow unfurling of truths, it’s a passionate plea for redemption, it’s a beacon of hope for salvation, it’s a story of love and how it heals - and how it hurts.. and it ends on a promise that lots more anguish will follow these deeply damaged characters. It’s a highly charged explosion on your senses and sensibilities and Shiri Rae expertly brought Blaire’s story to life and smoothly switched from accent to accent, charged the scenes with all the right feels, convincingly switched from character to character male to female and bloody shocking drama to passionate sweet promises in the blink of an eye. Hunter Millbrook did a good job with Charlie’s POV in the epilogue and bonus scene.

Worth a credit? Yes.. for me, this was a pulse-pounding, heart-racing, jaw-dropping wild and crazy ride.. and I cannot wait for more.

Very very dark.

I’ve listed to and read dozens of dark romances. This is by far the darkest one so far. If you aren’t squeamish and you like dark romances, you’ll like this. Extremely well written. I listened to all 30 hours it in two days. No fluff, no boring parts at all. I literally couldn’t put it down. There isn’t really a cliffhanger per se, but this story isn’t over so I’m looking forward to part 3 and hopefully it will come out soon.

Beautifully done

This is a very dark romance story, that leaves you wondering everyone's intention and is very heart pounding as the sadistic story unfolds. If you thought the first part of the book was dark, wait until the end. The ending will leave you breathless and looking over your shoulder!
Anita did a fantastic job of bringing the reader through Blaire's very conditioned and twisted mind, helping you realize why she does some of the things she does that a normal person wouldn't do. Her abuse and conditioning is so deep she seems almost lost completely, making for the heart wrenching, surprise ending.

Hauntingly beautiful, a great continuation of the story of Blaire. The story brings you along in Blaire's confusion of what is going on, it takes a few chapters to figure out just what is going on. From there, the pieces click into place and you are brought along a roller coaster journey that leaves you wondering how could this go wrong? Fabulous read, fully enjoyed every twist and turn along the way.

The narrators have done an amazing job bringing these characters to life. I adored listening to the story and am searching out more by these narrators.

Too Intense!

If you have issues with your heart don't get this series. If you enjoy a good intense story with cliffhangers, then get it. Besides, the narration is good. Guess one of my many questions to ask is what's wrong with Blair and Charlie staying together and working as a team? It was also amazing to see how Blair had much evidences to prove that she could and should trust Charlie but always second guessed herself and chose deceitful James instead good sound reasoning. Just couldn't understand why the author chose to make James the single most detrimental trigger to Blair's behaviors. Now I hate that I want to know how book 3 turns out. Dark romance indeed! Hope book 3 follows a more realistic plot where Charlie and Blair are the perfect couple handling their chaotic world together and James is nowhere around.
