Binge Listened, I could not put it down!

I enjoy listening to fantasy books because most have an HEA ending. The first three books led me to believe that’s what I’ll be getting at the end with the MC and FC . What actually happened was the biggest twist of all with a HEA ending just not what I expected.
A little surprised but thoroughly enjoyed book four anyway. I recommend listening to the complete series. So worth it. Action, fun and witty banter, romance, suspense and SpicyLove Scenes all the right elements for a captivating fantasy listen. Chandra Skype Is an excellent narrator.

Crazy ending...

After almost 35 hours of listening to all 4 books, the last 20 minutes or so of the last book was like whiplash. It was such an odd and unexpected ending. It also added extra info right at the end, making it seem like the series is unfinished

It was absolutely crazy how the couple who had been so in love over multiple books just moves on after losing eachother to someone else within weeks. I kind of saw her ending up with Mikal, but Rafe ends up with Annabelle?! smh, how weird...

Just could not get past the narrator.

I would like to believe this has potential. The inflection and made up accent of the male just grated on my ears. I really tried. got to the part where they were getting intimate and I just did not care. stopped.

Excellent but feels unfinished

I really hope she decides to make either another trilogy or a standalone to tie up loose ends. I was very saddened by the ending but we have to learn to accept not everything works out the way we want it to in life or a book. It is the author's vision not ours. Definitely worth the read. Everything she writes is worth the read.

bad books

the conclusion was horrible and the last two books made the overall experience sour. one Eve's rare bad books in my opinion.

I liked, BUT...

I enjoyed the 3 main characters:
Rafe, Emma & Mikhail. They all had likable personalities and attitudes.

However, this is beyond pure smut!!

I think I'm going to have to pass on this author in the future. This is the 2nd series I've listened to by her, and both have been too heavily filled with s3x. I don't mind a bit of it sprinkled throughout a story & when it's told well, but this author puts way too much emphasis on getting busy & less energy into writing a strong story.

The plot, which was good, is overshadowed by the revolting, poorly written smut.

Let's not forget that women are treated worse than property for the most part throughout the entire series. This shocks me seeing as it was written by a woman!

And then we have the ending, yeah let's talk about that real quick... To put it bluntly, it sucked!! I was thoroughly unimpressed!

Mikhail definitely deserved a good outcome after everything he went through.

Rafe did not deserve his destiny.

While I think Emma is resilient & will persevere, her actions and reactions didn't warrant her fate by any means!

And Annabelle should have been fried from the get go. For her to get everything she ever wanted is just wrong on every level!

And as for the last couple minutes of the series I can safely say that I was left utterly confused; being told 1 thing, immediately followed by the complete antithesis of what was just told! Talk about being both a cliffhanger with no sight of a conclusion with clarification and just 2 statements made in the very end where both cannot be true!

I may give this author 1 more chance, but more than likely, she is probably officially off of my reading list from here on out...

Chemistry nowhere to be found

Premise was fun and intriguing (space pirate- yay!) but I searched high and low for sparks between the two main characters and did not find any. I also think the heroine’s reaction to being taken off planet was not realistic and while I realized we have to suspect some disbelief, this could have been a great moment of intimacy and caring from the the male lead but nope.
Meh.

Bring out the orgasmatron!!

If you listen to this strictly for the Barbarella space-campiness of it all, and not for a romantic HEA, nor to like the MCs, then this is a funny (albeit horribly, pornily, crass) series. Thanks to the whole series being free, I moved on from a book 1 that rubbed me wrong and had a zany good time. Each book got better as I dropped my romance goggles and embraced the Space Balls. Seriously, the ball fixation is big and the respect for women is small (and limited to respect for their bodies). Ugh, instead of doing better, this author dragged me into the gutter with her and made me like it.

Rafe’s inner thoughts: “anything with breasts and an in-hole that doesn’t bite is your type.”
A chauvinist poo canoe can be fun in space opera, ala Han Solo/Lone Star or Peter Quill, but when the story is a romance, I need the MMC to have more redeeming than repelling qualities; Rafe’s only positive is his beefcake status and that gets old quick.

Rafe’s space-jockey schtick was fun until they left Earth, which is to say barely past the intro. The rest of the book is him pestering her for sex while rattling off names and features of random aliens. But, stick with it into book 2 and the plot thickens. It was still overall too much sex-on-the-brain for me, but I did appreciate the creativity.

These books honestly left me feeling annoyed. I enjoyed Eve Langlais but this series has some big flaws. Now I'm a person who can appreciate that not all books have a HEA but the ending felt rushed. Spoiler: What is up with the ending??? The pirate and the ship end up together. I would have come up with something on how the twins merged into one body or killed off one. Also, why are all the bad guys so weak. They honestly do not seem to really present any challenge nor did they do anything really all that bad or evil to the main characters. These books had so much potential but ending up very lacking.

Worst ending for any book I have read. Do not recommend. I still can’t believe the author ended the series like this.
