Profound

Intense, stimulated parts of myself that were unknown. Offers a perspective of love, relationships and the modern world that is both wise and simple.

Not too bad, kinda short but endearing

It wasn't bad, not especially free at either but a nice cute read. Short but I didn't see much more story possible.

Great Listen

Aris needs his mate ttoo survive. He finds her but has to get to her before it's too late. Great narration, pulls you into the story. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

Loved it!!!

I love this book. I put it in the same category as The Goldfinch. Ari Fliakos is the perfect narrator for this, kudos!!!

I am voluntarily reviewing this audiobook copy.

This is a very short but and jam packed audiobook. This story follows Sophie and Aris. The first meeting was very out there. Aris is a dragon shifter who is sick and dying. He does not understand what is happening to him nor his brothers. All he knows is that he needs to save himself and his brothers because he knows that he is meant for more. Sophie on the other hand has been repeatedly abused since she was 15. Her mother is worthless. That sounds harsh but she is. The fact that she allows a man to come into their home and abused her daughter screams Child Protective Services to come over and take Sophie out of that house.

Their love story is very short and very instantaneous. I did not understand what Sarah J. Stone is talking about when it comes to Sophie being abused by her stepfather. Aris and Sophie's relationship takes place over a course of two months and is intense from start to end.

The story itself was really interesting. I loved all of the male dragons that live in the house. I loved Aris as an individual and as the king. Sophie is a really good character. Even though she has been through hell and back she is still strong and very independent. She knows what she wants and she's not afraid to go after it. Like any person who has been abused in life there are moments where she doubts herself but then she realizes that, "Hell yeah I'm awesome!"

I cannot wait to see what ends up happening with the guys. Also how the hell did Ron end up finding Sophie? That is one question that I need answered and Sarah did not answer that question in this book. Hopefully she ends up answering the question and later books however I doubt it.

Connor Brown did a very good job narrating the story. The only issue that I had was that the male dragons don't have a different voice. They all sounded the same and unless the name of the dragon was given prior or after a sentence I had no idea who was talking. Just a little bit of a subtle voice change would have made such a difference. I really did enjoy the fact that it felt as though he enjoyed what he was reading as well.

Short but enjoyable

I hadn't noticed the length of the book before starting to listen, so it was surprising when it ended. I expected a little more story and world developing. This felt more like an introduction than anything. The writing style is fine but there just wasn't enough meat on the bone to chew on for me to be satisfied with this book. Perhaps if I read the other books in the series.

There is a small introduction to the Shifters's world at first and how they do not get along with the other races, this left me with more question then answer which this book does not address.

Subtle ending worth the winding changes

The book has grown on me . It is an easy listen, well written and the characters take awhile to blossom. Written by a Genx about his Boomer mother, and the entangled mystery that left him abandoned , is a story about love and growing up. I will read it again.

Amazing

This is an amazing and beautiful book, and it is incredibly enhanced by the reader, who does a stunning job of evoking the emotions of each character. This performance has completely sold me on audio books.

A Modern Day War and Peace

It has everything. Layers, complex characters, inter-connections, surprises and heart break. Possibly the perfect novel.
