Great narrator

Wanted to listen to the apocrypha, and this was a good choice to start with it.

Life changing & priceless!

I’m just finding out about these old books once used and read to the earl church & beyond. I heard about these Bible books on Sky Watch Tv. I ended up buying this in audio for my long travels to work. Also because I find it very difficult to read at home. This audio book was very long, so I figured it was well worth the purchase in all the content I would receive.

Well I must say I was just floored and filled with so much excitement & joy in all I was hearing for the first time. I haven’t felt this way in many years as the Holy Spirit stirred in me. I couldn’t control my emotions at all! I could barely drive my car as I wept uncontrollably in all I heard. I felt like a child hearing a story for the first time as I was filled with wonder & awestruck. I listened intensely to each story as the time flew by. My hunger to hear more grew intensely as each chapter was so rich & so intense. Why haven't I ever hear about this till now I kept thinking. So life moving, such much depth & awe inspiring!

I can say so much as to how this has moved me and has opened up a deeper hunger to dig deep into the mystery’s of the Lord. But I think that beautiful journey is something each believer deserves to have 1 on 1 with the Spirit. This is definitely something beautiful & needed to all people who hunger to understand the Bible in a deeper level. This might not be for all, but for those who it’s for It will change your life! I haven’t been this excited in years! It’s like a new spiritual door has been opened and Gods revealing so much of himself to me in a beautiful & intimate way. This experience was priceless!

Colossal Collection - Great Value!

This collection is huge! It’s is 26 hours of listening. As typical with works of this size Audible has difficultly indexing the work. Thankfully there is a supplemental document with an index provided through Audible on the website. Making bookmarks will help you manage your listening. The narrator also announces the beginning of each work and each chapter number. However if you do not pay close attention you will quickly lose track of what you are listening to unless in some of the larger works. The indexing is further complicated if you download the book in 4 Parts for better file management. PART 1 consists of material from the beginning to Ecclesiasticus 4. PART 2 is Ecclesiasticus 5 to 2 Maccabees 14. PART 3 is 2 Maccabees 15 to Enoch 86. PART 4 is Enoch 87 to Jubilees 8.

This is one of the most complete collections of Apocrypha and among the best narrated. There are many more books not included in this collection which are mostly considered spurious or too far removed from actual events. The ones here are those more widely received apocrypha and pseudepigrapha, the majority being recognized as scripture to substantial sects of Christianity. Sadly these are less know to those of most Protestant Christianity. While not considered cannon they still hold great significance to Protestants as well. In many instances they are referred to by the Apostles in the Bible and early church fathers.

This is a must for anyone interested in ancient history especially pertaining to the Jews leading up to the 1st Century which is the backdrop for the Christian New Testament. This is key insight into understanding the mind of someone living in the first century and how they viewed scriptural authority in light of the events of the world around them. While there are brief introductions, this audio book simply presents the work without much of a history lesson. Further study of each book will be necessary to understand how each work fits in context and it’s historical validity.

I have long time neglected studying these materials and was grateful to find them here in one collection on Audible. There are smaller selections available if the scope of this audiobook is overwhelming. This is more of a convenient One-Stop-Shop…all for the price of one!

Great addition to my Bible knowledge

I wanted to read the book of Enoch, so I got this all in one set. As I read through it, I found that several of the stories are found in other books of the Bible, therefore, I knew the stories.

But I was really excited to have the chronological order of things found in this book

For example, I had no idea that Noah was like the grandson of someone else.

I also liked the knowledge of the timeline, it allowed me to figure out how long people were alive in those days.

Not only that, but it explained a lot about the angels coming to earth, and mingling with humans. This causes me to watch ancient aliens show, and intertwine the words angels for aliens, and it fits perfectly.

Loved it!!! It's like the part of the Bible, we never heard about as children, but yet rings true to the New and Old testament as well as supposedly secular ext biblical history! Now I know the why's, where-to's, what-of's and Who's it's, of the Cannon of Old & New Testament!!! Not something I have time to read through, but, enlightened listening for sure!!!
