Now, more than ever, the world needs Arsenal.
Just not the modern world. Trapped in the past before superpowers existed, Amelia has one chance to return home. Find the armor of the Protector before Tesla turns on his machine and Frank is forced back to the present. With her armor broken, can she navigate a past free of modern tech, or will she become part of history, lost in time forever?

This was an interesting installment.

This series continues to stay fresh and consistent. This book caught me off guard with a twist or two.
It’s a fun read or listen. I do whisperSync and the narrator IS Amelia. Great book!
I highly recommend this series. I’m excited to hit book 9 so I get back to Wraith book 4 and see how this wraps up!
Amelia goes back in time

I also REALLY liked how we got the different point of view (POV) from the others still in the present. Especially Tia and Kate! I love those two!
Haskell out does himself with how the characters grow and refuse to “go with the flow.”
We get so many “goodies” from Haskell in the story and the hidden truths for several questions.
And that ending… holy crap, Haskell! You know how to hit someone in the feels! Bravo!
Emily “The Queen” Beresford went above and beyond in this one with being life and passion to the words. She drags you into the characters’ heads and spin up your ocean of emotions!
Moving on to the next book!!!
The hardest and emotional one yet…

Good character development, including consequences that make sense for the situation. Believable (given the conceit of the series) villains with understandable motivations. And the plot here is strong and moves well.
The writing is serviceable, but it's not strong, especially in dialogue. The world design doesn't make a great deal of sense, which makes it about par for the course in superhero fiction. And like all the books in this series, it's barely longer than a novella.
Beresford does an excellent job with most of this book, but her voice for the AI assistant is annoying. This isn't enough to be a serious problem, but it does occasionally impair clarity when there is significant background noise.
This was fun, and as the series approaches its conclusion, I'm finding myself caring more about the characters than I did at the start. This will never be a favorite series, but it has been entertaining, and I'd recommend it for fans of the genre looking for something new.
Notes:
* Maj. Tony Nelson, USAF? Really?
* "'Who's next?' It was rhetorical; they were all next."
Entertaining
