In short, I love animals and was reluctant to leave my work behind for maternity leave.

But now that I'm a mom, I'm trying to instill that same love of animals in my kiddo. It fills my heart to see him try to move turtles out of the road, rescue jellyfish on the beach, and save moths that get into the house.

The world around us is fascinating, as is the wildlife in it. My goal is to inspire a love and respect for this planet that'll make the next generation socially and environmentally conscious and motivate them to protect the earth, its inhabitants, and its resources. Entertaining!

This book is great for the kiddos and I even learned some things I didn't know. I think this book will be great for road trips!

This book I bought for my niece, but found myself listening to the entire book the first day I got it.

Fun tool for all ages

I truly enjoyed listening to this book, so much so that my wife wanted to continue listening with me! The listing of animals we especially interesting!

It really is amazing, and amusing!

I found both the facts and anecdotes alternately funny and surprising, and was left wanting even more. There remain a great many other animals for the author, a wildlife biologist, to write about because, as she says in the introduction, there are 1.371 million animals on Earth! Kids will love the story-based chapters, presented alphabetically by animal name. Audiobook buyers will also enjoy the free, illustrated pdf e-book version that comes with their purchase, and the kiddoes will enjoy the free coloring book even more!
