We worked with cats and dogs, of course, but with farm animals, too, and apes and monkeys and angry pet raccoons, burros, crows, macaws– the variety of pets in Los Angeles was limitless. Herriot’s stories really capture one’s imagination and Nicholas Ralph is a treasure, bringing them to life!

Such a warm story!

Brought to life by the narrator!! Will listen to the next over and over! Heartwarming and addicting!! I will be sad when I get to the last book.

James Harriot’s stories are timelessly good, as always. But I particularly enjoy this performance by Nicholas Ralph.

I have been a fan of these books for years but had not ever read this one. The performance was great as I appreciated the accent! I'd listen to it again!

I have so enjoyed this series of books! It takes me to a place I’ve never been, but dream to go. I love the thoughts of a simpler time and life. The narrating is superb!

Nicholas Ralph - super talented reader, conveying every personality with sincerity, charm and humor. His mastery of accents is so convincing that you forget the same reader is acting out a dialogue. He seems to have James Herriot in his soul. The writing of course is beautiful.

James Herriot a wonderful storyteller of animals

I have read several books by James Herriot and have enjoyed them all. Cows, horses, sheep, dogs, and cats a colorful menagerie of creatures and his experiences with them. He makes you smile, laugh, and cry as he describes his life as a veterinarian in the small town. It's simply delightful !
