Not your typical Alice

Really enjoyed this book towards 50% it really started to pick up and it became more dark. Darker than I expected! Looking forward to more works by Christina Henry!

I love the story of Alice in Wonderland and I love when fairytales are retold. Even so, I was skeptical about the retelling of one of my favorite stories. I ended up liking this book very much and have already started listening to "Red Qeen." Also, the narration is good.

Great Story!

I enjoyed the bit of childish fiction mixed with adult themes. You can take a lot away from this book if you open your mind while reading it. It's an adventure and keeps you guessing what will come next !

Great Performance! Story Good, hard to follow!

Very different take on Alice, creative, love the performance. Characters are very creative and worthy.

Great book

There are things about the book (last 1/4) I wish had been structured differently (won’t say any more there) BUT I still really liked this book. The voice actor is wonderful.

Narrator keeps gasping into the mic

It seems to be a good story, although I've a ways to go. However, it's intensely frustrating to hear a soft gasp every 3-5 seconds. If you sit far away with a sweater bunched up and dropped on top of the speaker, it can't be heard; but it's not headphone worthy. Perhaps a silent keyboard/mute button combo, or leaning away from the mic, or a program that can ignore that would help in the future. It's a shame because I don't like leaving negative reviews that can hurt people.

Wow

Gave this a try after Lost Boys. Be warned, some very grim and hopeless scenes depicted but still a very good take.

I wish all audiobooks were this good

Amazing story and narrator. Probably my favorite fiction audiobook so far. The different voices were all strong and really set the tone for the strange world of Alice. Can't wait to check out Red Queen and some of Henry's other work!

Follow the white rabbit into this book

Wow just wow. Once I started it I couldn’t put it down. Finished all in one day.
This story is almost an alternate universe of Alice’s adventures in Wonderland. A new take
This world of Alice has many new things such as wizards (which are the top of society), seers and crime bosses. Alice remembers nothing from her past except a green eye and the rabbit. Living in an insane asylum she becomes close with the man in the cell next door he calls himself the Hatcher (aka the hatter) after years of seclusion a sudden fire breaks them out but not just them THE JABBERWOCKY AS WELL. And Hatcher is linked to him. Now they have to find a way to stop the jabberwocky and remember their pasts.
There is a lot of violence, death, and mature acts such as R@pe of many girls so be warned but the story is fantastic. my only complaint is the battle with the jabberwocky it was kind anticlimactic. The narrator however is fantastic and I’m pretty sure I have heard her narrate other books. So what are you waiting for? Now go on follow the white rabbit and read this book

Interesting twist on the story

Captures you from the start and keeps going. While not a fast past book it maintains a steady pace with few lows.

The narrator is great and provides a nice change for each character.
