Quoting from the book’s first passage, “Love, in all its illusive forms, is also a gateway to so many other sentiments we experience in life, from the proverbial valleys to the mountain tops - passion, romance, empathy, joy, longing, loss, renewal, reconciliation. Love permeates almost all aspects of our lives, and yet many people, tragically, feel unloved. It’s universal, and yet very, very personal. It’s earth-shaking and yet ever so gentle.”
Sometimes, love shows up in the things we do or feel for others. Sometimes, it surfaces when we stand to lose something we cherish. And sometimes, it comes straight from the oven in the form of a warm, raisin- and nut-filled loaf of brown bread. But always - always - does true love, love in its purest form, come from the ever-present grace and glory of God.
