So worth the read-listen

Life is not perfect...especially not for retired special forces, widower & single dad, Caleb. He is still mourning the loss of his wife to a car accident two years ago, while trying to adjust to civilian life after 20 yrs in the Army. Not to mention that he's finding it hard to bond with his teenage son. Caleb is thankful for his older sister, Linda, who has been the best support for Caleb and son, Adam. He hates having to live with her but acknowledges that he can't get over whatever mental/emotional turmoil is preventing him from being 'normal'. On one particularly sleepless night, he decides to visit the local all night diner, Moonlight Diner. There he meets a Sarah, a pleasant and a tad quirky, waitress. Caleb feels comfortable with Sarah...something that hasn't happened in a while.
Sarah did not expect to still be living with family at 25yo but here she is, working at a diner for the past 4yrs, trying to finish her degree online and living with her brother and his family. She has been slowly recovering from depression that has plagued her for years, ever since a traumatic event in college. The tension between Sarah and her SIL is palpable, and she knows that her time with her family is coming to an end. Then she meets Caleb...the quiet single dad, who wakes something in her. The pair begin a tentative that morphs into more and we're rooting for an HEA...until someone blackmails Sarah, and her past comes back with a vengeance! Great book with an even better HEA!

Slow Start, but oh so very good!!

This boon wowed me. I was a little nervous at first because it started so slowly, to me at least, but once it picked up, it packed a punch!! The H suffers from PTSD and the author portrayed this so well. The h is in a not so good situation, which the way it was written, breaks your heart. I loved the way these two grew and healed together. My heart was doing a happy dance!!! The narrator's did a fantastic job! #audiobookobsession

I go out walking after midnight

Widowed single father and ex special forces meets Sarah a college student working the graveyard shift. He’s looking for companionship she’s looking for invisibility. They meet and bring out the best in each other.

And I know the writing is fabulous because the authors nails the main characters but also captures some of the worst people you can dream up.

The narrators are ridiculously talented!

This story started a little slow for me but I listened to the whole thing and I'm glad I did. I loved it! Amazing narrators also.

Great story!!

I could not put this book down. It wasn’t jam packed with any one thing but rather, just enough of everything you expect in a small town romance.
A truly charming love story with just enough angst for me to want to book slap one of the characters. lol
The characters were wonderful and the narration really brought this story to life.
I definitely recommend this book!!

Audiobook Obsession

Surprise twist!

I asked to receive this Audible book and voluntarily wrote this unbiased review. Both Caleb and Sarah have painful events from their pasts that haunt them and cause them pain. A chance meeting at the diner where she works starts their love journey but is not an easy one. There are several twists and turns. I must say the author surprised me with the major one. Both Caleb and Sarah learn that it is much easier to face their problems with the help of others. The narrators did an outstanding job of portraying the emotions and personalities of these characters. They made me feel like I was part of the story and cheering on the characters. I definitely highly recommend this Audible book.

Thank you for the audio, I voluntarily give this an honest review. Caleb suffers from PTSD but his one mission right now is to care for his son. meeting Sarah at the diner was unexpected to say the least. this was a slow build up to the two really getting to know the other, with both having trust issues. with bruised past can the two take a chance with the other. narrators Juliana Solo and Daniel James Lewis did a great job on this one.

This is such a great book. Lots of emotion and great strong characters. Excellent narration from both Juliana and Daniel, they compliment each other so well.

I received this book through Audiobook obsession for an honest review this is a wonderful book written by Lacy Hart and narrated by Julianna Soloand Daniel Lweis both had an excellent listening voice keeping you excited to hear more of the twist and turns of Sara and caleb's life ending in a happy ending.

Lots of twists

After midnight was an interesting listen. Caleb is a veteran with PTSD who is a widower with a teenage son and he meets Sarah, who works at the local diner. Through many twists and turns, the two characters have common issues and foes. Their romance is a long time coming, but well deserved.
Juliana Solo and Daniel James Lewis did a good job of making the characters come to life.
