One of the best author/narrator duos

I’m not sure what stars aligned the day Joel and Lily paired up, but it is a truly magical pairing. This was SO GOOD. Felix and Max’s story has heartbreak right in the middle and it’s tough to get through but it’s part of what makes this book so good. And Joel just does it perfectly.

Pulled at my heart strings

This is my second read from Lily Morton and I have to say that I loved it. Max and Felix were wonderful together.

Joel Leslie does an amazing job narrating and the accents were perfect. I highly recommend!

A Splendidly Delightful Story & Listen🎧

OMG, this book just blew me away, and I loved I loved this book so much, once I started it I could not put it down, the story did not just grab and captivate my attention the entire time but it tugged on my heartstrings too. Lily Morton is a gifted author, a master of snark and witty dialogue and her way with words is absolutely brilliant. Add that in with the amazing characters and storylines she created and you have this entertaining masterpiece of a story and if I could, I would rate it well above the allowed five star rating. I adored Felix Jackson and everything that came out of his mouth, a no filter, tells it like it is has a perfect response ready to go for any situation. A bubbling and colorful personality that can brighten anyone’s day and will definitely put a smile on your face and he did just that for Max Travers, a journalist visiting the bookstore where they first met. There was an instant attraction between them, neither were looking for love or a relationship, but they sure had some steamy hookups, hookups that happened more frequently and before Felix knew it he did what he said he never would, he developed feelings for Max. But he soon learns that Max was not upfront about everything and wound up breaking his heart. Max comes to grip and realizes how wrong he was about love, it took him a great loss to open his eyes and his heart, but it is too late, Felix hates him and is lost to him. I loved how everything played out in this beautifully plotted second chance romance, the story has the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and hot sexy times that are well written and done. Lily Morton, thank you for another amazing story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Joel Leslie is the perfect narrator to bring these characters and their story to life. He has a complete understanding of the characters he portrays, gives each a voice that suits that character’s persona to a tee, accents and all, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound. He is a natural talent, handling the snark and witty dialogue with ease, landing the humor effortlessly, never missing a beat. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance and has you feeling every single one. Joel Leslie is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to, his narration takes an already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Made for each other

Max and Felix are, of course, made for each other, though it takes time and a few tears for them to figure it out. But it takes only a few lines to understand that Lily Morton and Joel Leslie are a match made in listening heaven. Joel gets the heart of Lily's men, and gets her trademark humor. I loved this book in both print and audio formats.

After purchasing, I avoided listening to 𝘈𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘍𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘹 for literal months. Reading the book was just so painful, I knew I needed to be in a better headspace.

Totally enamored with Max And Felix -

I have now listened to all of Lily Mortons books in fact some of them more than once - There is some so wonderful about her guys and there road to finally finding their happily ever after. There is alway fun snark, a lot of misunderstandings but no so much angst that I get tense. I love to kickback and let the story flow. I am somewhat new to the mm romances and when I discovered Lily Morton I found that her romances often (well I guess always) outshine and FM romances I have read

After Felix is no different - we have a lot of snark ,silliness hot sexy scenes mixed in with some serious commitment issues and lonely guys . I feel sort like both Max and Felix could be or perhaps maybe are new friends of mine - both are so likable but have a lot of depth as do all her guys .

It is so fun to bump into all the guys from her other books even just in passing It is sort of like catching up with friends you have not seen a while
I think Joel Leslie is the best possible reader for her books and once again did and incredible job with this book

I love and adore this story. Felix and Max are utterly captivating and kept me entertained throughout. Joel Leslie brings these characters and story to life. I loved the accents. Joel does such a fantastic job narrating and delivering these characters with emotion and personality.

I've so far loved everything Lily Morton. This book just adds to the long list of creative, fun, funny and sexy books that I've had the pleasure of reading from this author.

Waiting for Max

Felix and Max get HEA.
The narration. I consume audiobooks almost as much I read them on my kindle. The narration for this book felt flat. Joel Leslie is very good at his job; it’s just I have heard all his voices too many times before. I own all of Lily’s books on audio and unfortunately Joel sounds the same. I have had to give relisting a break because I am unsure what book I am listening to. Joel seems to have a softer voice and a raspy deeper voice. It also runs into secondary characters. I would recommend this audiobook because it’s Lily Morton, but not for the narration. I am hoping a change-up will happen in the future.

a beautifully snarky romance

This is a wonderful second-chance romance full of snark, humor, angst and all kinds of feelings. Felix and Max are so engaging. All of Lily Morton’s characters are fantastic, but I think this couple is the best one written. Also, Joel Leslie’s narration was perfect.
