Resumen del Editor

Dr. Miles Grant acknowledges that his destined mate could be either gender even though his bisexuality cost him his family and his pack. Luckily, he found the Forbes Pack, who happily accepts him just as he is. What he never counted on was finding his mate in Pittsburgh or for his mate to be another species entirely - a cat!

Quincy Archer isn’t just any jaguar shifter. He is the heir to the leadership of his pride. Destined mates are nothing but legend to the nearly extinct and generally solitary jaguars, and Quincy certainly never expected to find one for himself, much less a male...or a wolf.

However, finding each other and coming to terms with their species is the least of their worries. Quincy is expected to select a proper female mate, father a cub, and take his place as heir to the pride. Except Quincy refuses, having no interest in women or leadership and knowing he isn’t right for it. But his father will stop at nothing - not even attempting to kill Miles - to get his way.

Quincy and Miles must overcome many obstacles to stay together as the destined mates they’re meant to be.

4.5 Stars!

I've really been enjoying revisiting the Forbes Mates series, through the audiobooks.

So, I hope you won't mind if I gush for a moment over how much I loved Chistopher Boucher's narration of Acceptance? Boucher offers great character voices (I adored the purr in the accent Chistopher Boucher uses for Quincy!), he interjects just the right amount of emotional nuance, his pacing and timing are terrific, and he has a great flow. This was, quite simply, a fun and pleasurable listen for me.

I love this series as it focuses on destined mates and have been looking forward to hearing Miles and Quincy's story ever since the epilogue of Patience.

I loved the rapport between Quincy and Miles and how their relationship unfolds. I especially loved seeing Quincy's interactions with the other wolves from the series and getting to spend more time with Finley, Tanner, Jamie, and Chad.

Acceptance focuses on the mystery of who is behind the attacks on Quincy and Miles and I really liked how information from both of the previous stories was woven throughout, and that it has a good mystery with plenty of action. I thoroughly enjoyed this and feel like this series just keeps getting better.

This is a sweet and sexy series that's really enjoyable to immerse myself in. I like the world-building and the characters - but Chistopher Boucher definitely knocks everything up a notch.

Liked!

I liked this book, and the series overall. Prefer Joel’s performance in Book 1 over Greg, but Greg’s performance was better in this book. Still has an annoying clicking sound from his mouth.

Strong story and so well conveyed.

Tams eBook review...

Jaguar shifter Quincy Archer has been raised in a Pride that doesn't believe in destined mates. So when he met Miles Grant, Doctor for the Forbes wolf pack, Quincy pushes him away. The fates are never wrong though, and soon it becomes impossible for Quincy to fight the pull. The problem is, Quincy may have warmed to the idea of a destined mate, even if Miles is a Wolf shifter, his Pride though, not so much. When Quincy is injured by a couple of cats that make it seem like they were sent by his father, Miles and the Forbes wolves take him in while he heals. Fearing that he is painting a target on his mate's back, Quincy flees, only to have to return immediately when Miles is also injured, actually, almost killed by the same cats that attacked Quincy. His mates family, the Forbes shifters, stand behind Quincy and Miles as they scramble to find out exactly what's happening, who is out to see both of them dead.

When I read the previous story in this series, my heart broke for Miles when Quincy rebuffed him. So I was jumping for joy when he decided to stop fighting the pull. I loved the way the story played out in this book, the flow of the story was steady, things slowly revealed at the right moment perfectly timed to keep the reader engaged and intrigued. There was the added suspense in the form of these three cats that are literally hunting Quincy and Miles. While they stop at just seriously injuring Quincy, their intentions are made clear from the start, they are out to kill Miles. As these two mates uncover more secrets, expose more lies, the plot thickens and they start to doubt who they think is behind it all.

Definitely a must read series, especially for anyone that likes PNR or Shifter stories. The books must be read in order though to fully appreciate the characters and the inner workings of the pack(s).

Tams Audiobook review...

I really enjoyed reading Quincy and Miles story, the audiobook took my enjoyment to another level. I love, love, loved the cat like tone Boucher gave Quincy, absolutely perfect. And I swear there were times I could hear a purr in his tone, sexy times, if you know what I mean.

Boucher made sure each character got their own unique tone and voice and added emphasis to words where needed, poured emotion into his voice as required. Definitely a must listen! As I stated above in my eBook review, you have to read this series in order or certain characters and aspects of the storyline won't make sense.

So much love for this series!!!

This is book three in a series and it must be read in order for it to be truly appreciated. I think you – might- be able to understand it if you read this as a standalone but you’d lose SO MUCH!

We met Quincy as Miles’ mate in book two. Shockingly, the wolves never knew there were other shifters out there – and Quincy is a jaguar shifter. Jaguars don’t have mates and Miles feared that he’d never be able to claim and live with his reclusive jaguar mate.

Quincy is not only a reclusive jaguar shifter, but the heir to the leadership of his group. He’s estranged from his father, though, and has no desire to take over leadership. He just wants to do his own thing – art and information brokering – and be left alone. In addition, he doesn’t want a mate (first because he’s not sure he believes in fate or destined mates – and second because his father is doing everything he can to bring him into the fold and he fears any “mate” of his would be in danger.)

We meet up with Miles – an ER doctor – and Quincy after Quincy has been badly beaten by some jaguar goons Quincy believes were hired by his father. At last, Quincy can’t deny the pull and he agrees to try to be with Miles, but only after he settles things with his father.

What proceeds is a very dramatic and involved game of cat and mouse (or wolf and cat!) wherein the goons chase after Quincy, then Miles, then Chad and Jamie after they’re roped in to helping.

**

I adore this series! The characters are multi-faceted and real, but still have their “animal” qualities close at hand. Just EXACTLY what a shifter story should have.

It was so great seeing so much of Chad and Jamie after Chad had been converted to his wolf. He was so adorable! I loved seeing how he evolved his control of his senses.

The mystery in this story connects the previous book through the Alpha Prime but has it’s own evolution by including Quincy’s father. The jaguar culture is just as fascinating as learning about the wolf culture we did in book two.

If I have any complaints, it’s the romance between Quincy and Miles. It goes from zero to sixty then stalls out for chapters then ramps up to a climactic finish and it was not nearly as satisfying as the romance from the previous two books. (Which is unfair to compare, but I loved the romance in books one and two, so this was just a bit of a let down.)

In any case, I couldn’t put this story down and I loved, loved LOVED the epilogue! GAH I hope it doesn’t mean the end of the series!!!!!! ☹

I can’t recommend this series or this book any higher – it’s truly wonderful. Any fans of shifter romances should consider this a MUST READ.

Audio

I am really loving this new(ish) narrator! He does such a lovely job with the growly and the accents and the pacing. I felt like the accent for Quincy was sometimes a bit OTT – I have no idea what an Egyptian accent would be – but this did sometimes feel a bit too cartoonish – but… I still loved it for the most part. I appreciate the effort to make everyone distinct and to really feel the story.

I super recommend this!

Acceptance, Forbes Mates 3

4.5 Stars

This book was interesting. Not my favorite of the series (book two still holds that spot), but I really liked the characters in this one. I would like to say this is a standalone, but I really think you do need the first two books in order to follow the storyline, as they have a lot of plot and characters you need to know before this book comes into play.

Quincy was interesting as a jaguar shifter not used to being so close to people, since jaguars are solitary creatures. And then we have Miles who is the complete opposite as a wolf shifter in a large and close-knit pack. These two were great to see together, and I really liked the storyline for this book; it was fun, action packed, drama filled, and a bit suspenseful. I really wasn’t expecting the way it all turned out in the end with who was behind it all; that was totally crazy. I really felt bad for Miles a few times, when he thought that Quincy was going to reject him, but loved that once Quincy got past the fact that they were fated mates, he was all-in and needed to be near Miles at all times.

Audio – I thought Christopher Boucher did a great job. I really loved the inflection, tone and the odd accent he used for Quincy’s jaguar character; it was fantastic to hear and totally different and unique compared to a lot of other character voices I’ve heard before. I enjoyed this audiobook a lot. I think the narrator really does a good job at capturing the correct voices for each of the characters in the handful of narrations I’ve heard from him so far.
