Another great Wylder story

I am truly enjoying my time in Wylder, Wyoming. In the late 1870’s, it’s all about gunslingers, and cowboys, and this little frontier town in the territory. This story is about the undertaker Gus and his unlikely stowaway.

He’s expecting a fancy casket for one of his customers, but he gets a whole lot more when he finds a body already in it. Oh, a breathing body. An attractive woman, no less. He wants nothing to do with Phoebe, but soon he’s drawn into her plight. She’s anticipating a delivery of jewels – money she’s owed from a wretched step-father. Gus doesn’t want any part in stealing, but he shelters Phoebe while she sorts out her life’s mess.

I chuckled a few times at the ruse she chooses, wondering if the good people of Wylder really did buy her disguise. And I enjoyed the fact she found a way to be useful. I also sighed when she and Gus finally got together. It’s the romantic in me. Of course she had to go away, but I knew she’d come back. This is, after all, a Laura Strickland romance.

As always, Dawson McBride narrated this book. I love that he’s doing all the Wylder stories – I’m a sucker for a good narrator who helps carry a series. There are more books to come and I can’t wait.

Amazing series

If you love old west romances, this Wylder West series is for you. Laura Strickland takes us into the life of Gus Wright, and undertaker, who upon unloading his caskets, finds one with a woman in it! Who would have thought that would be a way to travel? Phoebe used the casket to get out of town undetected, and so far it has worked. But will Gus keep her secrets? And will he find the key to her heart? Fun, exciting, romantic, Strickland wraps it all up in a story that had my attention for hours. Gus is a sweet man, and it's impossible not to love him! Phoebe is feisty and I love her artistic ability. Their slow burning romance warmed my heart and I love it! A little suspense, a little heat, a lot of sweet and I am sold!

Dawson McBride is just so good at story telling. His easy pace and warm tones bring this gem to life. I find his narrations to be extremely relaxing, like a comfortable blanket and he is expressive with his voices, creating all the feels. It's a great listen!

One Man, One Woman take a Wylder Undertaking

Angus “Gus” Wright is the town Undertaker. His heart shows through by the way he treats the clients. An unexpected surprise in a casket for a local rich rancher just may change Gus’s life forever. Phoebe Corbet is on the run from her stepfather, who stole the family business. She talks her rescuer into helping her. The lies and and a plan just may bring these two people true love. Will their love survive a hastily put together plan that leads them on a Wylder Undertaking.

Wylder Undertaking is the seventh book in the Wylder, Wyoming series and the second book written for the Wylder West series by Laura Strickland. This series brings together authors from the Wild Rose Press family to write a Multi-author series. This series revolves around the citizens in the booming western town that has growing pains. Wylder, Wyoming. The books bring new people to town and brings them together with the local citizens. These western historical romances will take you to 1800’s Wyoming where these characters face danger, passion, the weather conditions, wild horses, all type of conditions imaginable and their pasts to try and find true love. These stories can be read as a stand-alone book. So, welcome to Wylder, Wyoming where anything may happen, and love abounds. I very much enjoyed these stories. Take a trip to Wylder, Wyoming to fall in love with these wonderful characters and a unique town in the wild west. I’m anxiously awaiting my return to Wylder, Wyoming and finding the next group of citizens and maybe newcomers to fall in love with and who will be next to find true love.

The Wyld West

This is another stellar story in the Wylder West series. Angus "Gus" is an honest, sympathetic, caring, and p!ain man. Imagine when this undertaker opens a fancy new coffin that he orders from the East and finds a beautiful young woman. His reaction will make you laugh. Phoebe hides several secrets. These two are an unlikely paring, but the heart knows what it wants. They work together very well. However, Gus's insecurities could derail what they both want. This is such a heartwarming and emotional story. Kudos to Laura Strickland.

When Dawson McBride narrates this story, you'll be taken back into the Old West. I can easily picture him saying the opening introductions to the old TV westerns. Guess I'm dating myself. Lol He portrays the character's emotions and personalities and definitely brings them to life. His storytelling is a pleasure to listen to and enjoy. I highly recommend this Audible book!
