Book Two -Bravo!

As fun as the first! Ms. Burke knows just how to sprinkle the right amount of romance into a twisty, twisted mystery. Can’t wait for Book 3!

Another Entertaining Experience!

The narration for this immersive series puts this second entry into the completely 5 star category.

Engaging Series

I love this series and can't wait for the next installments. I do hope there are many more to come. The storyline is intriguing and full of twists which I love with a good mystery. I really enjoy the electric tension building between the two main characters. Felt like screaming, just kiss her already!! Then argh, you foolish women!! But that's keeps me wanting more! How many mysteries will they solve together, will Hadrian and Tilda ever stop denying their love for each other? Can't wait to find out!!

Great Read

Tilda and Hadrian get more than they expect when Tilda accepts a new case involving Hadrian's former fiancé. There is no shortage of mysteries that need solving or suspects that require investigation, and Hadrian's special "gift" gets quite a workout. These two make a wonderful team on several levels. It was good to see Teague again. I do like continuity of solid peripheral characters. This book missed a 5 star rating only because I grow weary of Tilda's incessant insistence that she will never marry. It verges on overshadowing the entertainment of the investigation, and that would be most unfortunate. I get the disadvantages of the time, but this is fiction, and I need what is bound to be a very interesting but overall well-suited romance. So, please, find a way to overcome the would-be barriers and take their relationship beyond the professional. That said, I eagerly await Tilda and Hadrian's next outing.

Serendipitous Choice

This is the second book in the series. I loved the first also but lazily just gave stars. I enjoyed both and eagerly anticipate the upcoming third book. if you like Victorian England and mysteries - you can't go wrong here. Enjoy!

This intriguing Author though has left us a continuing cliffhanger of the main characters potential romance. We are now left waiting till February, 2026 for that continuation. Augh!

A Whisper at Midnight

This review is for the audiobook of book 2 of this series. The book was excellent so I am thrilled to find that the audiobook was done so beautifully done by professional narrators and NOT Virtual Voice! In my opinion, Virtual Voice lacks the humanity found in listening to real, accomplished, narrators! You can close your eyes and easily become transported to regency London while listening. A definite 5 Star experience!

Charming characters. Detailed description of various settings. Delightful and entertaining repartee between main characters. Engaging interior monologues.

Great listen but….

Ok, after sitting through hours of books 1 and 2, I’m completely frustrated with Tilda and her unwillingness to accept her obvious attraction to Hadrian. They’re a perfect match, so let’s get on with it already!

Engaging characters and slow burn romance

I enjoy this author. I like the adventure and mystery but the report with the leads is what keeps it going. Excellent details— transports you to England of the past!
