Riveting story

No problem with holding your attention throughout the entire story. Was disappointed in the main character though. His reactions and decision making were more akin to those of an average person off the street than of an experienced PI/cop.

A Welcome Grave was well written and read. A great suspense novel. Next book please.

Standard-Fare Mystery Thriller

Not a bad detective mystery, but not great either. Drags a bit in the end, so be prepared for a lapse in an otherwise evenly-paced detective fiction.

Good listen, but too many characters

This was a great listen, but it certainly isn't something you can listen to as you're floating around doing other things. There are two rich guys, at least a half dozen gangsters, several Russians and a couple of people you may or may not meet? This book is Charlie from It's Always Sunny trying to solve the case of Pepe Silvia.

As always, Michael Koryta delivers.

Love the story line and the characters. Kept me going throughout the novel. I really enjoy the pace. And, of course, Scott Brick delivers it beautifully! More Lincoln Perry, please!!

Suspenseful

This was a good story--the characters that were interesting. Since it is the third in a series, it was nice to see some progression and changes in their relationships. This was another fast read but it drags a bit in the end. The story is written so that I found myself doubting there could be a happy ending...good suspense.

I am writing a review to remind myself not to invest in this series anymore. As another reviewer stated a gunshot residue test would have cleared LP from one of the many offenses stacking up. While the book moves along I just got tired of the pile up at every turn, this didn't inspire me to listen on it just bored me. I ended up fast forwarding to the last few chapters since I invested too much into listening to return it but I was tired and bored and since there is another book in the series it gives you an idea all may work out. I'm done with this series.

Follow up with a 3rd outstanding book

I am hooked on this series. It is a fast paced, nail bitting mystery of whodunit. I cannot wait to listen to the 4th one.

No one can trust anyone

This episode got on my nerves early, I could just see LP making all the wrong moves, setting himself up for trouble. No one seemed trustworthy, with everyone jumping to wrong conclusions from the get go. Turns out to be a good read, if you're ready to be irritated constantly by the characters. Listened to the audio, with Scott Brick as the narrator. I personally like his narration, but have heard others thinking exact opposite from me.

As usual, Michael Koryta has failed to disappoint. I really like his books and this was no exception. Solid story about a detective suspected of murder and trying to find the true murder. Good twists and turns throughout.
