Spy versus spy

Another action packed installment of the Section 47 series which has the reader trying to figure out who is the next mole to be revealed within Section. Thank you, Ms Estep! I have been hoping for another Section 47 story and I am thrilled that there will be another. It was interesting to get a closer look at General Percy.

Fun

This is such a great series! Charlotte is so smart and Henrika is a powerful and clever foe. Love the relationship between Charlotte and Desmond!

good supernatural spy novel, 3rd in a series. quite an enjoyable read with a paranormal twist

Another fantastic addition to this series

5 stars - I loved it!

It’s been a few weeks since the previous adventure (Sugar Plum Spies), and Charlotte and Desmond are still trying to lure villainous Henrika Hyde out into the open. But their new trap fails Section 47 Chairman General Percy (Desmond’s father) arrives and decides to take Charlotte off the case. But when Henrika specifically invites Charlotte to an exclusive charity auction she hosts, Percy has little choice to send her and Desmond, even if he has ulterior motives.

Like the previous books, I was hooked from the very beginning to this adventure. Charlotte and Desmond are a great team and they really show how much they trust each other in this one. The development of their relationship over this series has been fantastic but they really shine in this one. We see complete trust in each other, even over other family members, and it just made for a perfect relationship, on top of a fantastic and action packed story.

Desmond and Charlotte are still tracking down Henrika in this. They are trying to find her lab and shut it down and bring her in, but that doesn’t go as plan. We really see how ahead of the game Henrika is with all the different schemes she has going on and how she uses Charlotte to reveal the truth. Henrika is just a fantastic villain and I really have enjoyed learning more about her and her reasoning behind what she does as this series progressed.

Charlotte also uncovered a huge secret in this, which leads to her finding out what happened to her father and the Mexico mission. I am so glad we finally get to learn about what happened to Jack Locke, but also that we finally get to see the culprit get some of what he deserves, even if it might not last. I will be very curious to see what happens in the next book now that this huge secret has been revealed.

Overall, this was a fantastic and action packed story that I couldn’t stop listening to. I have really loved this series and this world of Section 47. I can’t wait to read the next story to see what will happen next on the hunt for Henrika, especially after the epilogue.

Superb narrators that drop you right into the fray.
Another late-into-the-night-couldn't-put-it-down audio!!

enjoyable but accents got confusing

I enjoy this series a lot, and the previous 2 had multiple narrators and I did recently listen to those before this without much issue (other than the male lead changing from one actor to another between 1 and 2) but this time i had a lot of challenges with the accents and variety of characters.... it just got confusing and I wasn't entirely certain I'd even the main accents hold from the start to finish of the book.

I will continue to listen to further additions to the story but at this point I may read the whole story first before diving into the audio with both feet
