Egged on by Lauren, she starts digging into Collette’s business dealings, and the deeper she digs, the dirtier it gets. Now all fingers are pointing at Valerie. In a desperate bid to clear her name, Valerie frantically tries to find who could have gotten hold of the dagger. But among a cadre of guests in full costume, it could be impossible to find the thief—and unmask the real killer.

Great First in Series

I had no real expectations for this book, but color me pleasantly surprised. It is great world building with well developed likeable characters, intelligent dialogue, a twist on the inheritance trope, and a solid mystery. Although I figured it out, I wasn't sure until near the end, and there was plenty more to resolve beyond the murder. The narrator did an excellent job, and now I am so ready for the next book in the series.

Great beginning to a new series!

What a fun story! The characters are well-rounded, and just quirky enough to leave me anxious for the next book. can't wait for the next one!

I couldn't get into this book. The characters are flat and stereotypical. The story is predictable.
