Resumen del Editor

An unforgettable new female detective bursts onto the audio scene in this historical mystery series set in 1920’s Ireland, featuring the Reverend Mother Aquinas. Read by Audie award-winning narrator Rosalyn Landor.

A dead body washed up after a flood dressed in evening finery is not a sight often seen in the slums of Cork city, Ireland.

When Reverend Mother Aquinas discovers the body at the gate of the convent chapel she teams up with former pupil, Police Sergeant Patrick Cashman and Dr Sher, a physician and friend to find out who the woman was - and who killed her.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Compassionate and wise, the Reverend Mother is a strong and distinctive character, who works among the poor and understands their plight. Recommended for (those) who enjoy M.C. Beaton and Carol Higgins Clark" (Library Journal)

"Harrison combines a savvy detective and a setting fraught with intrigue and tension for another winner" (Publishers Weekly)

A wonderful new mystery series! I loved it!

This is absolutely wonderful! Rosalyn Landor's performance is as good as ever - she is a fantastic narrator - has won numerous awards including the Audie award and this story was absolutely fascinating. I am a huge fan of murder mysteries and I LOVE Irish history. It's a delight from start to finish. High quality production. And a wonderful story. Could not stop listening until the end.

Enjoyable Irish fare

I usually have little patience for detective stories. I usually find crime tales quite boring. But this story was recommended by a friend as I prepare for a trip to Ireland. In this respect the story was very successful. It’s a lightweight book. No character development and nothing new. But it has a lot of charming and very Irish characters. The leading mind is a mother superior at an elementary school in a very poor neighborhood. Other ‘solvers’ are her former students.

There is no better narrator than Rosalyn Landor!!!

On Audible, narration makes or breaks the story. Rosalyn Landor is sooo great! She can do most accents, & makes one forget about the narrator, which makes the story far more interesting! It is the sign of a great narrator, if she makes herself forgettable, because then a person solely focus' on the character. I can almost not listen to any other narrator, Landor is so wonderful! She is the ONLY narrator I have listened to who can accurately do a man's voice. She is the Ella Fitzgerald of the narrator's!! She did this entire book with a perfect Irish accent! Every word of this story was with an Irish accent. I've heard her do many other accents, too - like Spanish, French, and more, and they are all perfect!!! I love her narration!!!!!
