Beautiful writing, captivating story
I found this a really captivating, well-written and unique story. Dark and lush, really creates a landscape. Just the right length-- didn't drag on too long or bog down in places like I feel a lot of books do. I enjoyed the narration, too.
I am not a "young adult" and I still loved it!

did not see that coming
I am a fan of whimsy and flowery writing and magic. this book was all of them and more, it added spooky to it and mystery to it, and characters that I loved to be frustrated with. it will not be for all but those that like it will love it.
