It was a nice insight into the mind of Neil Gorsuch. He also did a good job of describing the differences of how our legal system has evolved over time.

This is a must read for new and prospective attorneys as well as those tasked with teaching them and anyone with an interest in the legal and related professions.

A Collection - Not a Memoir

Do not enter this book expecting to read a memoir, but rather, a collection. Most sections are compilations of speeches and opinions of Justice Gorsuch. His reading makes the material more engaging than it probably is to the layperson. As a layperson to law (current psychology major and criminology minor), I still found aspects of this book insightful. Particularly worth noting is Gorsuch’s drive to show how the courts work in a unanimous way in some of the most pressing cases. A law or political science student would especially find this book appealing and insightful.

In present political climate crucially important!

This is a remarkably well written book, by an intelligent justice expressing what is at stake, and implicitly reminding us, in present day political environment where ends for some justifies any means, to preserve the oldest and most profound Constitution in the World.

The American Republic has prevailed because of the strength of and intelligent foresight built into the Constitution. Now politicians on all sides, but primarily on the left, are willing to steamroll the Constitution, with consequences no one understands.

This book should be read - and understand - by all those much too willing to ignore the Constitution, the separations of powers and the warnings by the founding fathers of how easy it would be to undermine the Constitution.

This book also explains why textualism and originalism are integral legal philosophies required to preserve the Constitution. The ideas of the political left to select judges and justices who are prepared to violate the separation of powers and legislate from the bench is incompatible with the Constitution and the founding fathers intentions.

For politicians to want judges and justices to legislate from the bench because the legislative process is cumbersome is a travesty.

An Important read

This book, along with RBG’s “In My Own Words”, should be read by everyone at this time-most importantly our press, our 535 legislators and our executive/administrative components!
