Fantastic.

Cathy is an excellent heroine, tough, resourceful and determined to get back to her own time. She realises early on that her only connection to the future lies with Fraser and the ring he has taken from her. The story follows her quest to try and take possession of the ring again and hope that it will take her back home to her family. When she finally gets the opportunity will she really want to leave the man she has become so close to?

Romantic Love.

I love an easy romance and this one was thoroughly enjoyable. The pair are thrown together by time and forced to work out their differences, after which both find they have an deep bond that develops into romantic love.

No romance.

This was listed under historical romance & time travel. It is a time travel story. When Kathy meets Fraiser, he backhands her across the face twice. Any woman who would consider a man after him doing that is an idiot. Secondly, some of the words weren’t even a part of the Scots vocabulary in 1746. But this author used those words anyway. Third, the narrator read this story instead of performing it. There is a big difference. Plus the narrator cannot speak with even a hint of a Scottish brogue, especially a highland brogue, but apparently he believes he can. Overall, I found the lack of any romance in this story very disappointing. I also can’t believe an author would think her readers would warm to a hero that hits the heroine. Overall, I was disappointed & annoyed by the by use of inaccurate vocabulary for the historical period. I was also extremely disappointed in the narrator. He should never attempt narrating anything more than an American accent. The time travel concept & aspect of this story was good. I am unable to put this book on my recommendation list.
