Felt like I was riding in the backseat along with them!
Having read Shawn’s other books, mostly fiction, I had waited on reading this one. Now I wish I had read it sooner. Not only did Shawn’s excellent writing skills make this an interesting adventure, it made me want to go see all the sites and more that are mentioned in the book. Some places Shawn talks about I’ve seen, and his colorfully descriptive storytelling skills make me remember how I saw them, but also gives me another dimension of them. Gary does a fantastic job narrating this as well, and gives real depth to the tales of Shawn and Dawn’s two month lap around our country. I highly recommend this book for its vivid descriptions, interesting trivia and facts about all of these places, and just all-around great storytelling.

Great real person look at our country
I really enjoyed this book. it truly gives the reader a real personal look at our great country. Shawn really puts it all out there. It could be a great guide for someone planning a similar trip or a great way to learn more about our country if you don't have the ability to do a trip like this yourself.

A mind picture book
I have been to many places they described and could see the pictures in my head of the ones that I have not been to. Shawn did an excellent job of making me want to go to these places and see these quirky sights. Thanks again for a great book

Easy Listen
A nice tour of places you might like to see or avoid as you pack your car and head out on the highway. Unfortunately, Inmon drove right past my personal markers, but I forgave him for not stopping because it was still all good in the end. I was surprised, however, that the UP of Michigan, where our family car swept the roads every summer on the way to Grandma's place, would of all places be booked solid and leave them them in a quandary for lodging! Thank you, Grandma!

Great book!
If you enjoy traveling, I recommend that you read this book. It's a great way to learn about amazing attractions, restaurants, and national parks/monuments from a FIRST PERSON POINT OF VIEW.
