Resumen del Editor

You might have heard about a wonderful little yarn store in downtown Seattle. Debbie Macomber can take you there!

In the year since it opened, A Good Yarn has thrived and so has Lydia Hoffman, the owner. A lot of that is due to Brad Goetz. But when Brad's ex-wife reappears, Lydia is suddenly afraid to trust her newfound happiness.

Elise Beaumont joins one of Lydia's popular knitting classes. Living with her daughter, Aurora, Elise learns that her onetime husband plans to visit and that Aurora wants a relationship with her father, regardless of how Elise feels about him.

Bethanne Hamlin is facing the fallout from a divorce and joins the knitting class as the first step in her effort to recover a sense of dignity and hope.

Courtney Pulanski is a depressed and overweight teenager. She's staying with her grandmother, who's trying to help by taking her to the knitting class at A Good Yarn.

Four women, brought together by the craft of knitting, find companionship and comfort in each other. Who would've thought that knitting socks could change your life?

It was a Good Yarn

It was a little confusing at first, figuring out all the characters and who belonged with who, but the narrator did such an exceptional job of voicing everyone in such a way, that soon I was able to know who was “talking” just by the way she was voicing them. Very impressive! I felt like I got to know and appreciate all of them and their story lines, which all tied together nicely and concluded in a very satisfactory way, it was an enjoyable listen to knit along to,

Good, cozy story...

I really enjoyed this second installment in the Blossom Street series. The characters are pretty realistic and seem like old friends. I especially enjoyed the knitting tidbits.

Romantic

I originally looked into getting this reading because I love to knit and crochet, and love to knit socks. When the sample mentioned they were learning to knit socks using double pointed needles (DPNs), I was "hooked." The other reason I wanted to get this title is because I belong to knitting and crocheting groups at my church and library. It started off slow, but the story line picked up as more characters were introduced. I really liked listening to this as I was crocheting my cousin's blanket. The narrator's voice is very calming, but doesn't change too much to reflect the different characters. Other than that, I enjoyed it, and I think you will, also.

Knitting and Friendships Forage On

Another new group of beginning knitters, a group who looks like they won't be a group to bond. Their project is learning to knit socks. The socks they knit and the the people they knit them for forage a strong bond. Unexpected friendships, disappointments and hurt feelings and the gift of forgiveness are wonderful ingredients for a charming story. I truly enjoyed this book. I have never knitted, but after going through the loss of my husband and having an extremely hard time I think I will find a "Good Yarn" place and learn how to knit. Maybe, I can heal too.

Knitting fever

I am a knitter. I knit every day, so I was intrigued by the title of this book. The story was, at first , confusing but then kept my interest to the end. The family dynamics was interesting. When I listen to a book by this author, I feel like I am right there, in the story with the characters.
