Read this book in my young teen years. It was always a favorite! Enjoyed the the way it was written so long ago...Christina Moore was a fabulous narrator!

This is one of my favorite books. The narrative was well read. With voice changes for different characters. I would recommend this audio book.

Oh what a wonderful story! Coming of Age, Elnora is a beautifully passionate and righteous character. Great book for young women.

Best Fiction Outstanding performance

A lively and satisfying work of fiction. A fantastic audio performance of it. A great classic often not referenced because it isn’t written by a man. I wish I could write like this. Evocative and balanced writing with a very nice story. If you liked where the crawdads sing; this is a bit better. If you liked Anne of Green Gables; this is very similar. If you live in Indiana you can go visit the place that this is written about.

This book is even better then Freckles!

I liked this book more then Freckles but I think that reading Freckles is helpful for context. Now don’t think that I’m trying to downplay Freckles, that book is also very good. I loved the narrator she did a wonderful job. Elnora is a good example of what a woman should be like. And you should always make sure that what you’re doing is good and right before you go ahead and do it. I definitely recommend this book.

Good story and Great Narrator

This was one of the best narrators if not the best if heard!! The story was really good also but I really enjoyed the narration! I wish more author’s would have better narrator’s it is so important for audible books!!

I sat and listened to this with my great granddaughter. she enjoyed it like I did when I was a child reading it myself.

Just a wonderful book. Truly lovely how most of the characters come full circle and there is so much pure good to look up to.
