This book by the author of Anne of Green Gables is a lovely listen. Performed well, Ms. Saunders brings the characters of L.M. Montgomery to life.

Dear little Jane-let

The book was the only one of L.M. Montgomery's that I had not yet read. It was different and meloncholy but also beautiful in its descriptions, which is a hallmark of her writings. It reminded me of Blue Castle but written regarding a child rather than a woman. I do love to read about a misunderstood and mistreated heroine overcoming her struggles and finding out that dreams can come true for her.

The narrator had a pleasant voice but I noticed that one several points during the reading, there would be a brief pause and the same words would be repeated. I wonder why those parts weren't edited out. Other than that it was well-done.

Great Book, Great Narration...recording flawed?

Montgomery has always been a great story teller and Jane's story is no different. I laughed so hard during the part with the escaped lion! Howevet several times throughout it would repeat and I'd already downloaded it, so I'm uncertain why. I'm hoping its just a bad download.

Nice reading. Some repetition.

The narrator was pretty good. Didn’t really do any very distinct character voices but that didn’t take away from the story. The recording did have a lot of times that the narrator would repeat what they just said. So basically it was very evident where they took a reading break and restarted by reading the last sentence over again. Just poor editing but the story was really nice so would definitely recommend.

Very exhilarating and entertaining story!

Jane of Lantern Hill is an amazing story of love displayed through forgiveness and healing. The listener gets a view of L. M. Montgomery’s varied writing experiences, in perhaps a more realistic and modern setting than the beloved Anne of Green Gables series. The main character, Jane, undergoes much character growth throughout the story, and is a great example of “being the bigger person,” so to speak. However, her abilities as an eleven year old child are a bit incredible in a few situations. Perhaps the story’s only major flaw is that the ending should have resolved more of the characters’ reactions!

The narrator has a lovely voice and did an excellent job conveying the personalities of the different characters. However, on more than several occasions some sentences would repeat twice in random spots throughout the story.

This is a sweet imaginative tale about a girl who discovers the meaning of family.
