The stories were interesting I guess but God that voice I can not do the narrator!!!! it's just soooo boring he sounds like a robot

Some stories are pretty good

There are some great stories in this collection. Also some not so great ones. Struggled to get through entire book. After all it did have 50 chapters and many many hours of recordings. Took me weeks 😁

Not great...but not terrible either

This book would have potential, however, it is very monotone...there is no excitement. The reader shows no emotion, so it is not scary at all, which is what I was looking for Halloween.

Dull

I guess I have to read this on my own. Narrator is so dull, it is hard to keep my attention. almost robotic.

Too many mispronunciations!

High school graduates know how to pronounce chasm, cupula, Greenwich, effaced and many many more. How can a professional narrator not know how to pronounce some words in nearly every story? Very distracting.

Excellent old stories using archaic words.

Difficult read for narrator, but many mispronounced words and repeated phrases. Enunciation good. So little pause between stories that it is difficult to catch the transition.

Good story & Boring voice

Great story but boy voice is so boring i listen to it before going to bed every night. it never failed to put me to sleep. So i guess thats a good thing.

ehhh....

Right for the price, the narration isn't terrible, but it lacks interest or emotion, though not unpleasant. This audio book has plenty of content. Some of these stories are genuinely interesting, but many are only so-so. I wish chapters were named, it would make revisiting the good stories easier. I have one more thing to say, in this reading of H.P Lovecraft's, Decendents, they pronounced it necro-MONIC-con and it made me a little sad, especially since 30 seconds prior they had pronounced it correctly, odd.

Mostly moldy old gothics

A few classic horror stories. Mostly gothic classics (or B list gothics). Lots of stories so you can be choosey. Hardly a break between stories. It is a good value of you like old old stories.

The performer is not great

While the texts are good the narrator does not pause between stories. It is very difficult to tell when you have left one story after another.
