3D Printing is High Tech Modern Greatness
3D PRINTING was something new to me. As an artist, I'm always interested in anything I can do to further my artwork. 3D printing is the same is AM (additive manufacturing). 3D printing can be used to make anything through layering. Even art pieces. But this audiobook is so much more than that. I only thought I was somewhat tech savvy.
I love the part of this book that talks about computer or video games along with the medical uses. That was super interesting. Furthering technology is always a plus which makes this a great listen by RAYMOND T. REEVES.
JAY PRICHARD makes this so much easier to understand. I enjoy listening to him. He's a wonderful voice actor with expert vocal skills. When he reads, it's as if he's speaking to you, not at you. An overall excellent audiobook.
This audiobook was provided to me for an honest review.

Informative
I knew very little about 3d printing, and this book pointed me toward many websites that showed how far the technology has progressed. The narrator didn't sound like he was interested in the subject.

Explanation In 3D Printing That Even I Understand!
As a technology challenged individual, when *I agreed to read listen to this book in exchange for a review, I did not expect to learn much. However, the author wrote this in layman's terms, so even I was able to follow right along.
3-D Printing explains the advent of this technology, how it has continued to evolve and where it stands at this point in history (I read this in 2015.)
What most fascinated me was learning how much is currently being done and the potential for the future. It is incredible to think that one day this method could create parts and pieces that can replace ailing and defective human organs. I cannot really imagine that! I am not doubting that it can be done, I am not wired to think in that manner – science, technology, etc. are beyond me.
As always, Jay Prichard did a fantastic job. His narration had me engaged in the topic I'm not particularly interested interested in, but I feel that I learned a lot of things from this book – which was surprising.
I think that Jay is one of the few narrators that I have come across who could read the phone book and keep me interested for a lot longer than anyone else. I really enjoy his professionalism and performances.
While I wouldn't recommend this book for my friends to like romance novels, I would expect that many people would enjoy it. It is written in a way that any guy or gal who likes to develop gadgets would like, even for practiced engineers and scientists.
I enjoy leaving reviews, as I know that I read them the reviews of others before I purchase a book. If you found my review helpful in your decision about this book, would you please select yes directly below this paragraph? Thank you so much.
Please consider "following me" here on Audible.com. I purchased a lot of books by authors that I am faithful to. I also have the opportunity to review books in all genres, many that I would not pick up on my own. I have been pleasantly surprised by new authors and narrators. Thanks!

3D Printing - State of Art 2013
The book gives a usable history of 3d printing from the earliest inventors and market share holders in specific methodologies of AM to the transition to mid-1990's to the increasing array of methodologies of printing and on to the 2000's entrance of desktop printers and open sourcing.
An expectation of how printing will affect the MFG industry is rendered and estimated time frames are given in a few cases. ROM cost savings are given in time savings, material savings, and part build cost reduction factors. Furthermore, concerns are given on the relative lack of SW matching to market need on to consequences of printing from legal to environmental factors.
All in all this is an informative book, but as the industry transforms will become more of an informational time stamp than a current state of the art in 3d printing.

The Real-life Applications Sort of Blew My Mind
Any additional comments?
I found this book to be very interesting. I felt like I actually learned something from it. What I found most fascinating was the real-life useful applications presented for 3D printing. It will make for some great topics to talk about at a social gathering ... Hey, did you hear about some of the things they are doing with 3D printing in the medical field? Very cool!
