Phew - this book is a roller coaster ride of candid stories that are really illuminating and deeply personal. I loved how Romy Nordlinger narrated with such frankness and honesty and just a little bit of mischief. There were times where there was a little overkill on the how-to instructional aspect of the book but overall and thanks to such great narration and rarely covered material - it was fantastic!

I'm a bi-girl who finds a confident title like The Straight Girl's Guide to Sleeping with Chicks irresistible.

Can I still use the guide, even though I'm not straight? After reading, I'd say anyone would find this book hilarious, practical, and sexy. There are a few boys I'd like to show this to.

Jen Sincero is the "authority" who knows how to pull it off. She interviewed hundreds of straight girls who've slept with lesbians, straight on straight girls, and all those girls that wanted to, but didn't— yet!

Bottom line, don’t feel guilty for being attracted to women. As for practical advice, not so much. Disappointing really.

The foundation of the book was a good idea. But the narrator's voice sounded like a senior citizen, throwing me off. The study subjects also seemed much older than the average experimental girls.

I have read other books by this author, and found them surprisingly good. Sadly this one does not start off that way, so I am not sure it will end much better. But this book not only has a rough start, it’s start reads almost as it was wrote by a man who is over compensating for his own insecurities by bragging about his conquest in bed. Which is not how this authors other books start off. It’s start also touches on subject mater that is very off putting, which IMO will cause most to put the book down to find a better book like 50 shades of Gray. Rolls eyes.

Literally she recommends approaching women who are “in an intimate setting and not only off their guard, but naked”, like a dressing room, sauna, etc. She also recommends hitting on the hot girl giving you a bikini wax.

WTF?! This is about 15 minutes into Chapter 4, for reference. So…it is a continual issue that women have with men for approaching them in inappropriate situations, but approaching one yourself is totally fine?

She also talks about how straight women can fall in love with each other, move in together, get married…and still be straight….I don’t think she understands what being straight means.

How on earth did this book get published.

Would you try another book from Jen Sincero and/or Romy Nordlinger?

No way. The author patronizes us with information we no doubt already have, and the narrator's voice is revolting. Probably, she was chosen because her hoarse voice was considered sexy. Somehow, it is the opposite of sexy. It sounds lecherous and repulsive. The way she pronounces the word "pussy" makes my flesh crawl. It almost sounds like "pissy" or "poossy" - I am not sure which but combined with her raspy smoker's voice, the effect is nothing short of horrifying.

I can promise you it's not the sexually graphic content - I'm a huge fan of Susie Bright.

Has The Straight Girl’s Guide to Sleeping with Chicks turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Romy Nordlinger?

Anyone. I can't think of names off the top, just someone with a more normal sounding voice.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None. Just listening to it made me feel angry and tense and the opposite of curious or aroused.
