Battered and broken, that's what I am.

Kept locked away for over a year, abused and dying inside, I'm nothing but a shattered omega trinket. The only bright spots in my days were when the Ghost came around, offering me the smallest bits of kindness and showing me that not everyone is as terrible as the monster who kept me locked up.

When a fiery omega with more heart than I've ever seen rescues me, saving my life, I feel more off-kilter than ever. Her family offers me kindness and a home, and her brother and his pack make me feel like maybe I could find what she has. There's also the matter of the sweet counselor who's been helping me cope since I arrived at the hospital.

Suddenly, I'm surrounded by alphas so unlike what I was taught to expect, and the omega in me wants them more than anything wants to believe they could be my salvation. But the traumatized woman who's been through hell wants to fight the pull. I also can't stop dreaming about my Ghost.

When he comes back for me, can the four new alphas in my life accept him despite his past crimes? Or will I have to choose between the one that gave me a mental escape whenever he was around and the four who've been mending my tattered soul and breathing new life back into me?

Shattered Trinket is a reverse harem omegaverse romance. You meet Cozette at the end of Switch Heater, so they are interconnected, but each book can be listened to as a standalone.

I'll start with the good. The book is fabulous! Really a great story of one woman's recovery and rediscovery of self and the men who helped her get back to herself and loved her through some of the worst trauma a person can endure. Cozy's strength is something special and Olivia Wright does a beautiful job with the narration. Micah, Ridge, and Manny, along with all other male characters, with one notable exception, are wonderfully narrated. Duncan Prescott has a really good voice, but his Scottish accent is trying to be Irish and not really making the grade there. It has really taken away from the story to the point I'm having to stop listening and get my Kindle to read Liam's parts, because the accent is that distracting to me. I love accents that work. I know the difference between Scottish and Irish accents and Liam's narration is doesn't qualify as either. I would have preferred that he not even give the accent a go. It would not have hurt the story a bit. That's my take. Great story. Mostly good narration.

Such a disappointment compared to Switch Heater. The story here was okay, maybe 3.5 or 4* compared to the knock-out 5* of Switch Heater. But the difference in narration was night and day. Idk why there’s such a marked change from book 1 (full cast, duet) to book 2 (two narrators, dual). I know they are technically standalone books in a shared universe, and not sequels. But it’s hard to not compare them, especially when the audio production of them is so different and jarring. Still, Shattered Trinket is worth reading. Idk if it’ll be in my repeat re-listen rotation list Switch Heater is. But I’m still glad I read it.

Good book, not great audiobook
