Since Darwin's day, we've been told that sexual monogamy comes naturally to our species. As polyamory continues to make its way into the mainstream, more and more people are exploring consensual nonmonogamy in the hope of experiencing more love, connection, sex, freedom and support. While for many, the move expands personal horizons, for others, the transition can be challenging, leaving them blindsided and overwhelmed. Beyond the initial transition to nonmonogamy, many struggle with the root issues beneath the symptoms of broken agreements, communication challenges, increased fighting and persistent jealousy.

Finally, a book about open marriage that grapples with the problems surrounding monogamy and fidelity in an honest, heartfelt, and non-fringe manner. Jenny Block is your average girl next door, a suburban wife and mother for whom married life never felt quite right. While many books on this topic presuppose that the listener is ready to embrace an "alternative lifestyle", Block operates from the assumption that most couples who are curious about or engaged in open marriages are in fact more like her - normal people who question whether monogamy is right for them.

At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society.

The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

New York Times best-selling, award-winning author, actor, and motivational speaker Hill Harper invites listeners to join the conversation about the breakdown of the African-American family. The black community of past generations found strength in families, but today’s black children have less than a one in three chance of being raised in a two-parent household. Harper’s search for answers to this phenomenon is an enlightening and empowering journey.

This book is for men in relationships who want to embody more masculine energy. Men want to live with more power, groundedness, and clarity. Men who want to inspire more trust, lust, and devotion from their partner. But this is confusing territory. The modern world tells you that masculine energy is toxic. And that we’re all the same. That you need to be a "nice guy" who plays it safe. For most men, it is not at all clear how to live more from their masculine core.

Great Content, Not-So-Great Narrator
The content is incredible! The author has organized information in such a well-thought-out, clear, concise and compassionate way. This is a great book for anyone who is considering opening up (pun intended) their sexuality and romantic selves to the possibility of non-monogamy or polyamory.
This book does not shy away from the pros and cons and does not seem to have an agenda one way or the other; the information is clearly presented in an unbiased manner for the reader (listener) to make their own decisions. I cannot recommend the book enough.
As for the narrator, however, her "man voice" was so distracting and unnecessary it became a cringe-worthy annoyance. Since she says the name of the speaker after the quote (Dave, Judy, Andy, etc.), there is no reason to try to pretend to be a man when speaking for them. It slowed down my listening experience because by the third hour I was lamenting that I had eight hours to go of bad voice acting... and that seriously detracted from the content of the book.
I will not listen to any other audiobooks narrated by Ms. Perrin.
That being said, there is a wealth of useful and helpful information presented here, and it's well worth the listen (bad voices and all).

Best guide yet....
This book is assisting me in navigating Open Relationships. I wish I was aware, when I was younger, I could live this way. I will carry and pass the lessons I've learned in this book long into the future.

fascinating and mind expanding
Fascinating topic. Opened my mind to new ways of relating and creating what I want in all relationships...monogamous, poly amorous or otherwise. Well written and well read.

Great content, hilarious voice acting.
Content is great! Some of the voices used for the people in this book sounded like South Park characters by the reader. Not my favorite when discussing the subject matter MKAY.

amazing!!
I love the way the author utilizes real life experiences from the people she interviewed. it allows the abstract to be shown in real life interactions. and that melding helps kind of solidify some of the concepts and ideas and helps get a better understanding. I have been consuming a lot of books on this subject and I like seeing different viewpoints and perspectives in how to approach it because it helps me get a better understanding of where I'm at in my journey and where to go from here. this was an extremely well written book.

A Very Informative Book on Taboo Subjects
Dive into the hot steamy world of multiple partners, not before absorbing the subject matter of this book.

Great book; OK reader
This is a great book to help you navigate your relationships (open or otherwise). Lots of practical examples and helpful information to think through. The readers voice is a bit challenging to listen through the whole book, but I think that is to maintain clarity and refrain from any judgement inflection. OK on 1.25-2x speed.
