I've been listening to this series in order and it's been great 'till now. What happened to Jim Frangione? It sounds like him I guess but the story is being read COMPLETELY different than the first 4 books. This is the first time you can't tell which male is talking and half the time their pitch is raised to female status. That never happened in the other books. Even common recurring words are now pronounced differently. Sympath has become symphath as one example. Was this the first book he recorded and the reading evolved from here or is this a narrator bait and switch. It's confusing. It's a great book all in all but I hope the narration in the next books returns to the norm that caught my attention to start with.

I enjoyed the other stories each prior story more than this one. It didn't have the excitement or suspense of the others before it.

Like Z, its a miracle Vishous isn't the most deadly psychopath known to Vamp & man. Both their childhoods were tough & after their transition, life became one long nightmare. But to find out who your mother is, then find out your destiny is to do the last thing you'd ever want to do...like I said miracle. Then a seemingly reckless act brings him in contact with Jane, a human doctor with a mind like his. Everything is in chaos until the most selfless act from 2 of the most unexpected places brings peace to all .... but the 2 who sacrificed. I love the BDB!!

I am a huge fan of the BDB series. hearing it read aloud was just as exciting. I loved Jim's voice. he captured the nuances and the attitudes of the characters with perfection! I just wish the chapters would have lined up with the chapters in the book.

This is my third time reading/listening to this book. I read the book. Later on, I checked the audio out of my library. Yesterday, I purchased my own audio. The proof of Z's change in demeanor. The mellowing of V's personality. These changes don't come across as forced. It's nice that V got what he deserved.

This is the second time I have read Lover Unbound and I really forgot how much I loved it. Lover Unbound brings us to V's story where love, lost, hate, strife, and every emotion you can have is found. This is one of the few books in the Black Dagger Brotherhood that has left me an emotional wreck from the rollercoaster that this book is.

I listened to the audiobook this time and I have to say, I truly love the narrator. He brings the characters to life and I truly love how much I get out of the books when Jim Frangione reads it to you. Ultimately, I loved this book. It deals with BDSM themes a lot better than the previous books which I appreciated.

All in all, 5 stars.

I love this series!!!!! Since she has an upcoming book coming out march I had to go back and relive this series I looooooove Vishous' story and can't wait for his sister to enter the picture. I also like the narrator, he curses exactly the way I picture those big guys doing it, makes me smile every time lol, levered I know but if the guy had been a pansy or worse a woman!!! I would have screamed. I like this guys voice.
