Avery is no stranger to bullying; not only from within his own home, but from his classmates as well. He assumed once he started college, his peers would mature and his worries would be over, but he couldn't be more wrong; rude remarks and hurtful words turn to physical altercations, and Avery needs to learn to protect himself.
Troy, a retired heavyweight boxer, is awestruck when a gorgeous young man enters the gym where he works as a trainer. Troy immediately takes Avery on as a client, and after one lesson, he's drawn to do more than teach and protect him.
But Avery has to protect his heart as well as his body, and has built walls which Troy must climb to discover secrets and surprising shared needs. If they're willing to fight for each other, their love could be a knockout.
This low angst story is full of sweet moments and steam. It contains no cheating or cliffhangers and has a very happy HEA!

This book was very sweet but also very tragic. It had wonderful characters that were perfect for each other despite their differences. It's low steam with no rel angst but lots of drama. I absolutely would have loved a longer book with the relationship developed more but I'm use to this author's tendency to write short stories and this was a great one. The forcus is more on Averys character development and overcoming his horrible past which was definitely achieved by the end.
The narrator did a wonderful job with the narration as always. He expressed all the emotions wonderfully and brought the story to life. He gave all the characters their own distinct voices that suited them all perfectly and made the story easy to follow. It is always a pleasure listening to them narrate this author's stories.
